ANALYSIS: Paper latest example of how woke U. Minnesota academics pass off political views as scholarly work
A paper on “diversity, equity and inclusion” in health services departments has been retracted for misrepresenting the “authenticity of experiences” cited.
But the paper is just the latest example of how woke University of Minnesota academics pass off their political views as scholarly work.
“Transactional and transformative diversity, equity, and inclusion activities in health services research departments,” first published on Jan. 8 in Wiley Online Library and then in March in Health Services Research, contained problems acknowledged by the authors.
One of the authors works for the school’s “Center for Antiracism Research for Health Equity.” The lead author is Professor Janette Dill (pictured, right) who works in the School of Public Health with co-author Stuart Grande (pictured, left). The third author is Tongtan Chantarat, a research scientist at the “Antiracism Research” center.
The health equity research center was started with seed money from insurance giant Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. It is run by an academic who does not have a medical degree.

An unwinnable challenge is to find a “woke” study that even approaches believability, intellect, or accuracy. Add coherent writing to that....
Leftis never write a paper to fit the facts, when they can make the facts fit their paper
their characterisation of specific data (personal narratives and experiences) was either inaccurate, misleading, or false,” the notice stated. “The final submitted manuscript unintentionally contained content that mischaracterised the authenticity of experiences represented, and the authors have requested retraction.”
In other words, they made up ‘experiences’ [e.g. interactions with supposedly real people} to propound their narrative which had no basis in the real world.
You begin to wonder how these people keep jobs in academia when they simply lie about their work they publish.
Mischaracterizing authenticity is known to us non-academics as "lying". Now, get out your Newspeak Bingo cards:
The public health professor “leverage[s] the frameworks of critical race theory and reproductive justice” in order “to inform her equity-centered work which aims to build the empirical evidence of racism’s impact on health particularly for Black birthing people and their babies.”
Leverages, frameworks, critical race theory, reproductive justice, equity-centered, Black (capitalized) birthing people - BINGO! We have a winner!
“Innacuracies.”
AKA LIES!!!
‘misrepresenting the “authenticity of experiences” cited’
So they made a softball study about people’s experiences (generally worthless anecdotal data), and when they didn’t get the experiences they were looking for, they just made them up.
Did I get that about right?
This crap goes on all the time in whatever is left of the “social sciences.” Not just Minnesota, although with their frostbitten brains up there, it may be worse than other places.
.
The easiest solution is to shut down all sociology, psychology and similar programs worldwide. Virtually evey destructive social philosophy comes from these pseudoscientists. These professions are total garbage.
I have often wondered why it takes such an enormous effort to find the doctoral dissertations produced annually at various schools. An effort was made to accumulate the titles of dissertations accepted at the U. of Minnesota for a given year. I gave up. It was as painful as a pulled tooth, and should have been easy as pie. One must assume that Minnesota, and likely other institutions as well, are not all that proud of the dreck they accept from graduate students.
