The FBI is warning consumers about “juice jacking,” where bad actors use public chargers to infect phones and devices with malware.
The law enforcement agency says consumers should avoid using public chargers at malls and airports, and stick to their own USB cables and charging plugs.

most of the China crap we have sitting around that connects to WiFi has China spyware inn bedded...Thermostats, lights, cameras, etc., etc.

They all do, actually. They get software updates that way, and maintain “vehicle health reports” etc.
I am unaware of an electric vehicle that isn’t “a connected vehicle.”
They're why they're so cheap these days. It's insane that you can buy a 65" 4k TV for under $300.
This is why. They collect useful (and sellable) data that offsets the sticker price.
ALL vehicles built ICE or EV have data connections.
Updates are not done via charging cables for EVs. OTA connections.

On in a room with a smart TV that is off. Start talking about any off the wall subject like going snow skiing or buying a food processor. Within hours you’ll be bombarded by commercials.
This warning is about 10 years too late.
