STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — More relatives of people shot to death at a Colorado supermarket in 2021 are suing gun-maker Sturm, Ruger & Co. over how it marketed the firearm used in the massacre, adding to litigation first filed earlier this month against the company.
The lawsuit by relatives of five of the 10 people killed in Boulder was served on the company Thursday and is expected to be filed this week in Superior Court in Stamford, Connecticut, according to Andrew Garza, a lawyer for the plaintiffs. The son of a sixth victim sued the company on March 14.

Did the perp use a vehicle? Was their gas in the vehicle? What brand of shoes was the perp wearing. Did the perp have cell service? You know where this is going.
Why? Because the "inner-city tribal parasites" that commit the crimes don't have anything but food stamps, EBT's, and other handouts from Taxpayers, so their pockets aren't deep enough to warrant lawsuits, and these baby daddies don't have "standing"(LOL)......
This is a strategy by the gun-grabbers to sue for false, deceptive advertising as a way to get around the Federal Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms act that was passed to block these stupid lawsuits.
I believe it was New York State that first allowed the advertising practices to be attacked in the Sandy Hook case against Bushmaster resulting in a $73 million settlement with the families.
I think that the judgement will not stand.
I think the gun manufacturers will win on appeal
PPL that sue in this fashion are idiots and being taken for a ride by the trail lawyers. All of who are predominantly ratholes.
I think the gun manufacturers will win on appeal
In the Sandy Hook case against Remington/Bushmaster, it was an out of court settlement, so there is no appeal.
Unfortunately, in this case the families are being used by the Soros-funded anti-gun groups Everytown and Moms Demand. They're the ones providing the lawyers for the Colorado suit against Ruger.
was the perp a citizen of the state? was he a pupil in the education system?
It’s actually more like they just ignore the hundreds of people shot and killed in Chicago every year and pretend it doesn’t happen. About the only time you were here it is if it’s say multiple people shot in only in the local media.
The goal is to financially destroy the industry with a blitzkrieg of lawsuits so that if nothing else they go broke just trying to defend themselves. This PO💩 president we have opens hid @#$! mouth and encourages lawsuits like this left and right. Nevermind the fact that some of these manufacturers, 2nd amendment issues aside, are defense contractors as well.
those folks have too many soros dollars.
are tthey gonna sue the ammunition manufacturer?
idiots!!
Why. did. this come out today?
That was the reason behind the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, to stop these lawsuits.
The Supreme Court failed to hear Remington's appeal after the Connecticut Supreme Court allowed the advertising lawsuit to move forward.
Since Remington settled for $73 million instead of taking the case to trial, there is no precedent for or against this sort of lawsuit, so the anti-gunners are using this strategy in other states, including this Colorado case.
The 2nd Amendment exists...until it doesn’t.
So if someone runs over a bunch of Christmas paraders with a Blazer, do the families get to sue GM?
Who pays the lawyers who file these worthless lawsuits? Ruger won’t settle - suits like this are prohibited by law.
Some leftist with deep pockets somewhere. Needs to be exposed.
If a company advertises weight loss, and someone dies of anorexia, the relatives should sue the company and store that sold the product?
If a politician advertises that he will solve all your problems, give you wealth and it doesn't happen, and a loved one commits suicide because of it, can you sue the politician?
What if a politician advertises that if you take a vaccine, you will not die, you will not pass on a disease to others, but you take the vaccine and a member of your family does die after you get sick? Can you sue the politician, the government official, the maker of the vaccine?
Marketing is a slipper slope on the platform of free speech. Yes, there is fraudulent marketing that if false has consequences, but what is being proposed is a 1st and 2nd Amendment case that is a totally slippery judicial slope.
I was thinking the same thing.. we’re surrounded by idiots who are run by idiots.
“You know where this is going.”
Yep, the deepest pockets.
