Former President Trump on Wednesday took a swing at Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) after the Florida governor knocked him in an interview with Fox News’s Piers Morgan, another clash between the two GOP figures as they prepare for what could be a 2024 presidential primary match-up.
In an interview set to air on Fox Nation’s “Piers Morgan Uncensored” Thursday and published in part by The New York Post, DeSantis shifted from his previously veiled stance to more directly addressing the former president’s attacks with jabs of his own toward Trump’s character and leadership.
Trump, who is facing a looming indictment in New York over a hush-money payment to the adult film star Stormy Daniels, took to Truth Social to respond to DeSantis.

Trump fatigue is beginning to set in. I don't believe DeSantis will beat Trump, but I do believe there is a chance. Anyone that doesn't think so is delusional and not paying attention.

With near certainty I’ll be voting for Trump in the Maryland primary. After that I hope that Trump selects DeSantis as his running mate… but, sadly, there are a lot of bridges being UNNECESSARILY burned that may make that impossible.
PS - Of course I know that there is the “same state” issue that can be rectified.

Not so fast. There is a strong possibility Jacksonville will have its first Democrat mayor since 1993 after the runoff election. DeSantis has done a great job but blue state migration and foreign national migration are ticking time bombs here.

Trump was registered as a Democrat for more than eight years in the 2000s, according to New York City voter records made public during his 2016 campaign for president.
Was that when Trump donated $100k to the Clinton Foundation? What did he get for that bankroll of payola?

The previous mayor of Jacksonville was a Democrat. Alvin Brown was mayor from 2011 to 2015.
And it is pretty questionable to use the mayor of Jacksonville as a gauge for how right or left leaning Florida is. Jacksonville has only had 4 Republican mayors since the 1800s and one of those was originally elected as a Democrat. There are still some liberal strongholds in Florida - but they don’t dictate how the state goes.
You’re probably right, trump nominee but then four more years of Biden. Yuk. Very rarely does a loser come back and win In the presidency.
Trump needs to be careful. He is going to need a pardon from President Desantis in a few years.

Florida is a terrible state worse than NY and terrible in education and crime and any other statistic. Goes in to call a puppet of Paul Ryan. I never thought I’d live to see Trump scared to death of another candidate. I voted for him but damn sure won’t again. He needs a mental evaluation.
