California cities have battled a homeless crisis for years, while still throwing billions of dollars at the spiraling tragedy to help those who are in dire need of housing.
But one city has defied the odds, reporting the lowest homeless population in the state.
Coronado Mayor Richard Bailey (R) said there are no vagrants in his city at all, and he joined “Fox & Friends First” to describe how he has reinforced a no-encampment policy while still upholding the rule of law. […]
Coronado funds “reasonable” services to help those struggling get “back on their feet,” but noted the city also has a no-tolerance policy for violating municipal codes. […]

I am absolutely shocked that they were able to implement this policy. I would have thought that some state agency would have stepped in to stop it or sue the city, etc.
It does kind of help that Coronado is an island with a rather long bridge as the primary access
Make it easy for people to encamp and they encamp. Difficult and they find ways not too.
And even the teeniest little house will cost you a cool million.
Coronado is very high-end. It’s also a military town. The 2 together I can’t see tolerating it. San Diego’s got plenty of encampment space so ‘deportation’ is easy.
LOL, Coronado is basically a private island, all they’ll do is push them to the San Diego beach towns which are already jammed with homeless and lowlife.
The DNC will press for the island to be bombed out of existence for its ideal of a nicer place to live.
Now that he's told the world, on FOX News of all places, you can guarantee California AG will start an investigation of "civil rights" abuses.

I would guess nearly all the homeless “services” are over the bridge in the downtown area. The bums tend to gravitate around the free grub, programs, etc.
there used to be fines for vagrancy, and the cops woudl escort folks out of town- that is a thing of the past in some places-

Recently stated in the Little Italy area of San Diego. Was surprised I saw no encampments and hardly any homeless. One might see a few homeless shuffling through (no shopping carts in tow, though), but it really is quite a contrast with downtown and Gaslamp area. Mission Valley, particularly around the SD River, was a total homeless encampment.
Little Italy is a very busy/bustling area. Restaurants are packed. What are they doing right?
I wouldn’t put it past the cabal to send all of the military stuff to the Ukraine and then level the place as an example to all who oppose homelessness and vagrants that won’t try to help themselves.
One of San Diego’s biggest suburbs, El Cajon, is now referred to as, “Little Baghdad. Real disgusting stuff.
Create incentives for people to be homeless, and they will be. Create disincentives and they will find a way not to be. It’s not rocket science.
Go down the road a few miles to 16th St, right around the Mass Transit location and the tents and crazy effers are overflowing.
In my little town in North SD County, we more or less are doing the same thing as Coronado. You may seem some homeless attempting to set up long term tent cities, but they aren't around for long as they are moved along after the legal waiting period (post announcing they're being removed).
I regularly, over the last few years, get to see the lowlifes who used to live in suburbs in outstanding neighborhoods attempt to come back to our nice little area and live the good life on the streets, all provided by the misguided do-gooders coughing up handouts at intersections and local morons who advocate for these hardcore homeless. Fortunately, we still have enough common sense people running the show here that we continue to keep moving these losers elsewhere.
Being homeless should be a felony punishable by indentured servitude.
They are lucky. For one it’s an island. Second lots of military. Third is it’s very wealthy. Triple treat will get you privileges.
