Russia has lost "strategically, operationally" one year after its invasion of Ukraine, top US general says

A little less than a year since Moscow began its invasion of Ukraine, Russia has “lost strategically, operationally, and tactically,” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley said from Brussels on Tuesday.

“Putin thought he could defeat Ukraine quickly, fracture the NATO alliance, and act with impunity. He was wrong,” the top US general said. “Ukraine remains free, they remain independent. NATO and this coalition has never been stronger, and Russia is now a global pariah. And the world remains inspired by Ukrainian bravery and resilience. In short, Russia has lost — they’ve lost strategically, operationally, and tactically, and they are paying an enormous price on the battlefield.” Milley and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin are in Brussels for the ninth meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, to discuss ongoing support for Ukraine as it fights against Russia.

Milley said on Tuesday that until Putin “ends his war of choice,” the international community “will continue to support Ukraine with the equipment and the capabilities it needs to defend itself.”

Ukraine has tactically and strategically forced Russia to occupy Eastern Ukraine and made Russia occupy a land bridge to Crimea.

Such a stunning defeat for Russia.

With Bakhumt collapsing, they are rolling out the nonsense articles as a diversion. As if they can wish away the reality on the ground.

Sure. Russia has annexed 40,000 square miles of Ukrainian territory, killed more than 150,000 Ukrainian soldiers and disabled 400,000 and is close to clearing out Bakhmat, the last Ukrainian strong hold in Donetsk.

Russia holds anywhere from a six to 10-1 advantage in ammunition being fired per day.

Ukraine no longer has the ability to launch an offensive.

The general is full of it or, more likely, lying.

It’s well over. Were it not for Biden sending in NATO it would have lasted 2 weeks.
