A key signer of the open letter that wrongly suggested The Post’s bombshell reporting on Hunter Biden’s emails was part of a “Russian information operation” has accused Politico of distorting “what we said” — more than two years after the fact.
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper tried Monday to tamp down the growing controversy over the letter that he and 50 other ex-spooks signed after The Post first revealed the existence of the first son’s infamous laptop in October 2020.
Their public statement, now the subject of investigations by the Republican-led House Judiciary and Intelligence committees, was first reported by Politico and later seized on by then-candidate Joe Biden.
“There was message distortion,” Clapper told the Washington Post. “All we were doing was raising a yellow flag that this could be Russian disinformation. Politico deliberately distorted what we said. It was clear in paragraph five.”
Clapper — who in 2013 falsely told Congress that the US didn’t “wittingly” collect the telephone records of millions of Americans — also claimed to have been unaware of how Joe Biden described the letter during a debate with then-President Donald Trump, according to the Washington Post.

Is believe that the data on the laptop from H377 DIDN’T have “all the earmarks of Rooskie Disinformation” by any objective standards.
That’s because the letter was being received exactly as they intended it to be.
So of course, Clapper has disavowed it, said they were completely wrong, the Russians had nothing to do with this, that Hunter and Joe Biden lied and are clear National security risks and controlled foreign assets, and that Trump was falsely accused.
Did I miss that announcement?
The weasel still stands by and defends his lies.

I have a relative who is like that. When you have evidence that she lied, she spins a whole new one in an effort to convince you that the evidence is a not what you think it is.
The problem is that what goes around doesn’t come around reliably. Karma doesn’t always play out immediately and in the case of the Clintons, never.

I believe so because Gutfeld was making fun of it and said maybe they should have signed a card from Hallmark.
Clapper and the other Chinese infiltrators clearly didn’t lie, they just weren’t telling the truth. That he never issued an objection to or clarification of the declaration only proves he was simply not lying. Anyone with a third eye can see the difference.
It is we, the public,who are mistaken because, well, I mean, like, I mean, y’know, it’s us who’s racist and stuff like that.

And based on the position the 50 took, Bye-Done went out in the debate and on 60 minutes and said the laptop story was a “Russian plan,” “a bunch of garbage,” “disinformation from the Russians” and “a smear campaign.”
At no time did the Clap et al say then that “Politico deliberately distorted what we said.....All we were doing was raising a yellow flag that this could be Russian disinformation.”
What it reveals is terrifying. That our CIA and FBI are overtly politicized and they have no fear of heavily influencing national elections. Hopefully the House dos something about this and not just stern letters. They wonder why people have no confidence in our government, and in fact fear it.
True, the only payback was Hillary's defeat.
If we had a justice system the guilty light would be on.
All of them should be arrested for collusion to influence an election. They should lose ALL benefits...retirement, healthcare, citizenship....send the MOFO’s to China....they will be greeted as heroes.
