Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) invited President Biden to debate over Social Security and Medicare on Thursday while the president is in Florida after days of the White House and the GOP sparring over whether the programs are at risk of facing funding cuts.
“Since you can’t stop talking about me and lying to Floridians about Social Security and Medicare, I’m sure you’ll accept my invitation to debate the issue,” Scott wrote on Twitter. “I’ll be back in Florida tonight. You pick the time and place.”

Showboating. It’s really a job for Mike Pence-he’s going nowhere. He can debate any Democrat that wants to be POTUS. He still has enough stature where a democrat can raise his or her profile.
If Rick Scott wins the Republican nomination, Biden would probably debate him, but the RNC would block it.
My initial take on Rick Scott is that he’s a simple goofball, but I could be wrong. By pushing this nonsense that will never happen, or pass in the form of legislation, he’s giving the left an enormous amount of ammunition.
The multiple Rick Scott haters here on FR have some things to learn. While Senator Scott has a number of flaws, he knows how to campaign and get elected.
I don’t think this is some half-baked trash-talk move on his part.
BTW - who is your favorite Biden-basher? And how are they doing at scoring direct hits?
Biden said he had the propoal, just contact the WH and he’d send it.
If he’s got it, why not release it to the press (all the press)? We can read it for ourselves.

It is sad commentary that we can’t have a civilized discussion about a system that is heading for a cliff while there is any, although diminishing, room to avoid disaster.
Totally agree. perhaps it needs to be taken out of politics and passed out to a handful of number crunching organizations/labs/incubators and let them all present ideas.
