How was Cuba not effectively part of Russia’s Communist war machine, and how in the world can you compare NATO with the evil empire’s Warsaw pact, and compare NATO’s mission in protecting their own nations from Russian attack and nuclear war, with the evil empire’s mission in Cuba?
You make Castro and Communism and Russia’s efforts to conquer or destroy our nation sound reasonable.
Die already!
Says the Soros fellater.
“Mein Fuhrer I Can Valk!”
By the time this war is over there won’t be much of Ukraine left except for a rump state in western Ukraine. I think Putin will be less concerned about them aligning with NATO.
“Dr. Strangelove was based on four (not five) famous German scientists and political figures.”

I don’t know, maybe he’s Moses...
Uh-Oh. This will not sit well with many of the pro-Russia FReepers, who until recently applauded Kissinger’s comments on the matter.
> How was Cuba not effectively part of Russia’s Communist war machine... <
Cuba was fully integrated into the Soviet machine, with one important exception. There were no Soviet military units in Cuba (except for advisors, of course). No armored units, no bombers, etc. And that wasn’t because the Cubans and the Soviets were nice, peaceful guys. It’s because they didn’t want to provoke the US.
> how in the world can you compare NATO with the evil empire’s Warsaw pact <
My comparison is not from the viewpoint of morality. As you noted, the Warsaw Pact was just another extension of what Reagan rightly called the evil empire.
Instead I’m looking at things from a practical point of view. You simply must consider how your moves will be seen by your opponent. That’s how you win chess games (or diplomatic struggles).
“The last time he saw 99 was in 1799.”
I think perhaps he saw 1999; don’t you think?
And...? I should care what this bucket of fake thinks because?
“Adding Ukraine to NATO would be like adding Cuba to the Warsaw Pact back in the 1950s. Only bad things could happen after that.”
I think the 1960s would be a more apt analogy.
This was the cause of the rift between Castro and Che Guevara. Che wanted Soviet troops in Cuba, Castro didn't.
I’m guessing Blinken and the other neocon deep staters told old Henry that the decision to go forward with WW3 has been made, otherwise Russia, China and the BRIC nations introduction of an alternative currency will destroy the Western financial system. So Kissinger was forced to change his tune and go along with it.
NO to Ukraine in NATO!
Abolish NATO instead!!!!
Really? REALLY? Is your lack of sophistication that glaring?
Big Serge spends 22 opening paragraphs declaring Ukraine defeated, then jerks the slack out of his own jackassery by declaring:
" I am currently anticipating that Russia will clear the Bakhmut-Siversk defensive line by late March."
TWO MONTHS? Do either of you have any idea what can happen in two months of war? Particuarly timed at the 1-year mark of Putlim's insane, bellicose, fraudulent causus belli: "NATO countries have no sovereignty; countries that even court NATO have no sovereignty." You think Putlim will be the one taking the victory lap? LOFL at all three of you!
“Agreed. Ukraine does live in fear of Russia. Just as Castro’s Cuba lived in fear of the United States. But what would the US have done had Cuba been admitted to the Warsaw Pact? We already know that answer from the Cuban missile crisis.”
Nice try, son. Our bitch about Cuba in the 1960s was that the Soviet Union had introduced offensive nuclear missiles into Cuba, with the capability of striking virtually all of the continental Unites States in the Lower 48, except for a small slice of the extreme northwest.
“But too often we in the West act without any regard to how other nations feel about things. And that can get you into heaps of trouble.”
With that I agree.
