The amendment, which was also introduced by Reps. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.), Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) and Jim McGovern (D-Mass.), would also allow states to set up public campaign financing systems that could restrict the influence of private wealth.

They get money from cryptoscams now so no companies needed.
The only reason Democraps want to overturn Citizens United is that Republicans have lots of rich, wealthy people to help them win elections.
Before Citizens United, only Democraps had wealthy dark money pouring into their evil coffers...they want to go BACK to that way of life.
They KNOW they can’t keep cheating on election day...sooner or later someone is going to actually give a damn and get the proof!!
Hilarious! Unions appear to exempt from this amendment.
Does anyone else besides me, each time they read another story like this, think to themselves, “just shoot the bastards!”
I’d hate to be the only “that guy.”
Unless, of course, it's really REALLY BIG wealth. Like Soros, and his pals..
“””The only reason Democraps want to overturn Citizens United is that Republicans have lots of rich, wealthy people to help them win elections.”””
Years ago the corporate executives were major contributors to the GOP.
In recent years after Citizens United, that has reversed and corporations have become major contributors to the Democrats.
So I am not sure why the Democrats would want to cut off their money supply.
Nothing in it exempts unions
“would also allow states to set up public campaign financing systems that could restrict the influence of private wealth.”
If I had more closely read the article, I see the Democrats want the taxpayers to fund political campaigns.
That is a non-starter.
A constitutional amendment? Seriously???
How many states do they need for approval, and why in HELL would the Red States (Republicans) vote for something that only the Blue states (democrats) want?
The numbers are not in their favor.
Plus when one’s donor is CHINA, there are unlimited ways to channel money, even cold cash in Mr. Ng Lap Seng’s suitcase.
This is pure virtue signaling - they know it will never get the required 2/3 in the House and Senate (if it even gets a vote) and it certainly won't get the 3/4 of the states required.

But a deeper look into the FTX investors would probably prove that the investors knew very well that their investments would be funneled into Democrat and RINO contributions which exceed the legal limit.
I’m certain that these entitled elites would not want to be fingered as criminals. So what do they do?
Change the law.
Like all proposed Amendments, it ‘only’ takes 2/3rds of each house and 3/4ths of state legislatures to become part of the Constitution. Don’t think the dems have those kinds of votes to get it out of Congress. So it’s just virtue signaling.
Just figured it out.
These democrats don’t expect it to pass at all. They just want the “issue” to fight Republicans with.
The WORST thing that could happen to democrats in these blue states is to be replaced with a logical, well-spoken Republican.
This bill—which will fail to even get out of the House—will then be used by these democrats to prevent the cat lady and the assistant college professor from ever voting for a reasonable Republican...
Not breaking news, not important news.
Read it again. It aims at corporations. Unions are not mentioned by its proponents. It’s all moot anyway. But don’t for s minute think that these bastards wouldn’t find wording that would carve a niche for unions.
“Breaking” must have been added by someone else.
The process to amend the Constitution is intentionally very complex and difficult to complete. We're currently in something like year 50 of the Equal Rights Amendment process.
Fair enough. You do know this has zero chance of being implemented correct?
You do know that newsworthiness does not depend on this exact proposal's implementation, correct?
If you want to get pretentious and frivolous with me, see how far it gets, correct?
