Stellantis is closing its assembly plant in Belvidere, Illinois, in February 2023.

The Illinois plant employs about 1,350 workers, who are expected to be laid off.

Stellantis cited the rising costs of electric vehicle production for the closure.

The company said the replacement of the Jeep Cherokee SUV, along with other vehicles on a new electrified platform, will be produced in Toluca, Mexico.

Stellantis has said it will invest over $31.6 billion through 2025 on electrifying its vehicle lineup.

It also has said it expects EVs to make up 100 percent of its sales in Europe and 50 percent in the United States by 2030.

And let’s see how a Mexican-built electric Jeep handles American four wheeling. They might as well file bankruptcy now.

Is it too early to label these areas as Biden’s New Rust Belt?

The unions have been stabbing the rank & file in their backs and buttocks…FOREVER! The unions embrace the open door border policy against the wellbeing of their members.

The rank & file are too stupid to understand, the same can be said for the rank & file’s embrace of dimocRAT party, that those union officials and party apparatchiks care zero about them and are nothing more than lazy communist prostitutes.

Does that number apply to Americans only, or all employees?

Engineers should build a car like the ones in the good old days without the bells and whistles. I’d buy one.

I’m tired the yellow light blinking on my Ford’s dashboard.

RE: Dick Durbin

My guess is that 90% of the Belvidere workers voted for him Biden. See what that got them.

> The unions have been stabbing the rank & file in their backs and buttocks…FOREVER! <

Very true. And it’s much worse today then it was 50 years ago. Back then the union leaders were as corrupt as they are today, but at least they weren’t woke.

I was a member of a teachers union for decades. And one day early in my career I was at a union meeting. During the Q and A session a black teacher asked our president what he was going to do about the large number of black students who were being suspended.

Nothing, the president replied. Any student who misbehaves should be suspended, period.

That would never, ever happen today.
