Trump is done, finished, kaput as megadonors bail in droves [WashTimes]
Washington Times ^ | Joseph Curl

Donors just didn’t want to back a loser — and that’s just what Mr. Trump is now — a loser.

“Hedge fund manager Ken Griffin, the second-most prolific GOP donor of the midterms, said Tuesday that he would support [Florida Gov. Ron] DeSantis over Trump, pointing to the Florida governor’s dominant reelection victory in a state that was considered competitive until recently,” The Hill reported this week.

“I’d like to think that the Republican Party is ready to move on from somebody who has been for this party a three-time loser,” said Mr. Griffin, who funded a pro-Trump super political action committee in previous cycles but has already given $5 million to a PACE aligned with Mr. DeSantis.

Robert and Rebekah Mercer, two top donors to Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign, are also done backing the former president, CNBC reported on Friday.

“Blackstone CEO Steve Schwarzman, Citadel CEO Ken Griffin, wealthy New York businessman Andy Sabin and billionaire Ronald Lauder are among the wealthy GOP donors opting against helping Trump’s latest campaign — at least during the Republican primary,” CNBC said. “Some of the country’s wealthiest GOP donors do not believe Trump can win again and have argued for a new face to represent their party in the race for president.”

Money often decides elections, so Mr. Trump’s desire to run again may simply be trumped by a lack of money. Should that occur, Mr. Trump might not even make it to the primaries, especially if Mr. DeSantis hoovers up all the cash. ... There was no more fear of The Don, and a look deep into the exit polling data shows Mr. Trump truly was a drag on the party.

I can't post the whole article since it's behind a paywall but here's yet another one in which the billionaires who control the Republican establishment are trashing Trump.

They're trying so hard to put in their puppet DeSantis.

Money often decides elections …
Not as much as cheating, especially these days.

It is time that we take the next great step in civil rights—run a chimpanzee for President.

Democracy—yay!

;-)

As Trump ages, he has less and less reason to hold onto his money.

Even if all the RINO globalist billionaires desert him, he still has his own wealth to rely on.

The only problem will be is that if he has to use his own money, and the MSM decide to not take his money and air his ads, then he might be prevented from using his wealth in the best possible way.

Yes, they want to support DeSantis because DeSantis wins elections.

The real campaigning isn't going to start for another year so we can't really say who is interested in running right now other than Donald Trump.

"Resign to Run" law florida

Top Florida lawmakers want to change state law so DeSantis can run for president in 2024 without resigning as governor

I see ignorant people.

Many pundits took the same position in 2016 — the donor class hated Trump so he has no chance of winning - no donors, no winning. This article is a great indicator that Trump will win in 2024.

When he ran in 2016 he got zero help from, in the beginning. And they’re all putting their money on the horse they want to win.

Yes, polls are BS but most of them are showing Pres Trump with a sizable lead.

If he wins the primary some of them will come back

Then again, knowing what he’s all about, NOT THEM, they might support Biden because they know he can be manipulated and bees greedy.

Gonna be an interesting time

Like it or not, Trump’s “negatives” argue that bailing on helping him is the wise point of view.

New Rules:

1) Only registered voters can contribute money to political campaigns or anything related to elections such as get-out-the-vote campaigns. No money from unions, PACs, corporations, non-profits, etc.

2) Money from registered voters can only go to candidates and elections that they are allowed to participate in. No money from Hollywood except for Hollywood, California, and US elections.

3) Voting rolls must be kept up-to-date to prevent violation of the two previous rules.

Oh yes, the toes thing—pathetic. Rubio would have needed to stand on a box of printer paper or a bale of hay or something.

The globalists are trying desperately to stop Trump’s momentum before he gets a footing, but he already has that.
