The country may have experienced a red wave after all. It just didn't translate into the electoral outcomes that have historically accompanied major political shifts — and after the initial wave of instant narratives extemporized by pundits on election night, close observers are now just beginning to dig for the reasons underlying the model-shattering disconnect.
Republicans are currently winning the national popular vote for the House in Tuesday's midterm elections by a large margin, according to the latest data from the Cook Political Report.
Specifically, GOP candidates have so far received 50,672,592 votes, or 52.3% of the total ballots cast as of this writing. Democrat candidates, by comparison, have so far received 44,802,597 votes, or 46.2% of the total.

After almost every election the media and Democrats always talk of eliminating the electoral college. I suspect that we won’t be lectured about that now.
AMEN.
Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesooooowta folks are a different breed of human beings.
I’ve worked with a few of each over the years. Good grief!
Wanna know something? Forget google. Just ask someone from each of these states.
They’ll have the answer. Even if they don’t have the answer, believe me, they’ll have the answer.
Meetings with someone from Wisconsin is always a joy. Tawk about sucking the oxygen outta the room. They’ve just gotta be heard. On and on and on and on. Meetings to end at 5 so everyone can go home...but no. Wisconsin Steve can’t shut his mouth. lol
LOL.....NICE CATCH.
Cali will fix this
Cope.
Who will exercise power after January? That's all that matters.
Buyers remorse? Stayed home?
Drugging, drinking, texting, jerking?
I suspect the red state wins were by wider margins than the blue state wins.
The Blue vote will never be all in. Voter suppression doncha know?
I am so disgusted at the Maricopa county officials. They are ALL corrupt and the big guy in charge, well his name is BILL Fng Gates… I know Kari Lake should be our next Gov’r but I am afraid of the chicanery and outright fraud.
Correct. That hundreds of thousands of voters fled crime ridden, economically struggling Blue states like New York, Illinois, and such to Red states like Florida, Texas, and so on accounts for both GOP losses in the those Blue states and the increasing solidity of Florida, Texas, and so on as Red states.
Seems to prove that the dems can’t cheat everywhere at the same time. Not that they won’t try. Progressive leftists on BOTH sides of the aisle have no conscience and no morals. The folks who vote for them share the same traits. This means YOU mr. And ms. Rino. Not pretty but pretty simple.
Excellent point.
The leftists ate our lunch in all the redistricting fights.
This was a failure of republican leadership.
The same a-holes that are trying to spin the disappointing results to their advantage and regain control of the party.
While the Republican may have received more popular votes, that success is irrelevant positive “spin” and really means nothing.
Truth is, with the condition of the country right now, literally every bassackwards from where it should be, there should have been a Democrat repudiation and shellacking. There wasn’t, which makes the inverse true, the Republicans have gotten the shellacking.
Without the obligatory repudiation of the Democrats, the Republicans will be hard pressed to try and stop the Democrat agenda from going forth. With the help of the MSM, are likely to take the blame for the condition of the country if it doesn’t get better by 2024. And, if the country conditions get better, POTUS will get the credit, whether is FJB or FKH, but it won’t be the Republicans . . .
Carefully targeted vote fraud is a possibility.
I used to work with a Wisconsin Don and can verify this. :)
The poor midterm performance is the result of a combination of factors. And leftists control all of them, except who runs the republican party.
And they probably control that, too.
