Red states may be turning more blue since pandemic start – here’s why

Some of America’s red and swing states (purple) may have gotten less Republican during the pandemic. That’s according to 2020-21 U.S. Census data cited by real estate outlet Redfin in a recent report.

The main reason is increasing diversity in areas that are typically whiter, Redfin reports. The data shows that more people moved into red and purple (“swing”) counties in key states last year than in any year in a decade. Redfin explains “key” states are “states in which either candidate has a shot at winning in the upcoming Senate elections.”

Census statistics show white voters are historically more likely to vote Republican than Black, Latino and Asian voters — though some data suggests increasing support for the GOP among minority groups, especially Latino voters.

Key states with a less white electorate are now, according to Redfin: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

In these states, red counties gained about 340,000 residents, while purple counties gained around 271,000 new residents last year. Redfin says the trend is also being seen in many non-key states and counties, too.

I need a freeper with better analytical skills than I have to read this and explain exactly what this story is about. Seems like the writer is working to cover up bad news, but that's just my first impression.

the writer assumes that all non whites are democrat.

However, one of the big themes of this election is the shift of non whites to the republican party

Not likely. If that were the case then Biden and Obama would be campaigning in red states and not in NYC and California of all places.

It will be true if they throw the old bag out in Michigan. If not, they deserve what they get.

What it is saying is that, because red states are financially more sound than blue states, blue voters are moving into the red states for their better economy but will still vote Democrat and turn the red states a bit more blue.

Remember how all those Puerto Ricans who moved after the hurricane and were going to change red states when they moved to the mainland? No talk of that now. I suspect many of them discovered voting Republican is ok.

All of this is meant to establish a narrative to disguise the massive coming vote fraud.

They assume that Hispanics are a guaranteed democrat voting block. They are not.

Most Hispanics are not in favor of the transvestite and child grooming policies of the democrat party and most Hispanics would prefer to be able to afford gasoline and groceries.

I think Asians are more Republican now than they used to be, thanks to the pogroms against them in the last four years.

Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin

I know you can’t rely on polls, but everything is trending away from what the author implies in every state above except Colorado

According to Ann Coulter, Trump lost ground with white males in 2020.

Apparently, many of them were “scared little bitches” who thought they were going to die from covid. They thought Trump mishandled covid hysteria.

So they voted for Brandon, they were pathetic fools if true.

This is disinfo, in order to sell their stooges on the prospect that the 2022 midterm elections "should have" been a resounding success for the Demagogic Party, in order to justify massive raids on homes, SWAT teams, arrests without trials, etc.

Good.

They have the same percentage(65% democrat) as Hispanics but get a free pass on Free Republic because they’re college oriented and aren’t ‘illegals.’

Agreed. I don’t usually watch local news except for the weather report. One of the local news channels kept linking the Paul HomoPelosi incident with J6. They sure got their marching orders from the drivebys.
