An emboldened cast of anonymous trolls spewed racist slurs and Nazi memes onto Twitter in the hours after billionaire industrialist Elon Musk took over the social network Thursday, raising fears of how his pledge of unrestricted free speech could fuel a new wave of online hate.
Twitter has struggled to enforce its rules against harassment and extremism, and the company has not yet published any broad-scale changes to its content-moderation policies.
But Musk, a self-described "free speech absolutist," has fiercely criticized the company's previous leaders as overly rigid and suppressive and said he would work to overturn some of the company's main enforcement mechanisms, such as indefinitely suspending accounts.
A wide range of anonymous Twitter accounts celebrated Musk's takeover and argued it meant the old rules against bigotry no longer applied.
"Elon now controls twitter. Unleash the racial slurs. K---S AND N-----S," said one account, using slurs for Jews and Black people. "I can freely express how much I hate n-----s . . . now, thank you elon," another said.

True. The current employees are still in control of moderation. If this "got through" it's because they wanted it to be posted (and likely did it themselves).

Most of the heterodoxy on Twitter right now are posting "women can't have penises" and "Covid originated in a lab in China".

The 1st amendment was not added to protect speech we agree with but to protect speech that offends us. The reason it (the 1st amendment) is needed is how to determine who gets to say what is good or bad speech? Twitter and the gang of progressives decided they would be the arbiter of speech and look where it got them.
Free speech is really the safety valve on the pressure cooker of a society. When you tie down the safety valve you will eventually get a violent explosion.
While there is a right to free speech there is no right to be heard, simple just don’t follow anyone that you don’t want to hear from.
Well heck, we can’t even use the N word here, and I wish that we could. It is about the best way to draw a distinction between “N words” and Blacks. Taking that word out of the vocabulary hurts reporting. Contrast for example:
Police in St.Paul shot and killed a black man who was pulled over in a routine traffic stop.
with
Police in St. Paul shot and killed a “N word” who was pulled over in a routine traffic stop.
I mean, with the second example you immediately know the character of the dean person, much like saying the Police shot and killed a white trash meth head today. . .
