Wow you really have zero idea how old one must be to collect SS, the SSA sets the age requirement, depends on birth year.

Oh, I understand all that. And more. I’m very late 60’s and have been drawing for a couple of years. And have plenty of outside income.

I just don’t understand how people can’t grasp that the system, as it stands, is not sustainable. It’s a mathematical impossibility. So we just pretend ....

We have thought that way since I was in my teens.

I don’t make the laws. I can’t get them to wake up.

We need to start putting SS receipts into some sort of
growth fund. Start at 2% and raise the level to 100%
over the years.

I’m very sorry that happened to you.

If you’re making good money, it isn’t easy to replace the
income.

Thanks for reporting that on the forum. People need to see
what they may face.

Businesses are failing left and right these days too, so
it is possible for more people to get caught in this.

Just like clockwork the stories crank up that conservatives want to take away old peoples social security. Do people still fall for this?

Peee shaw, this is a planted piece to sway votes. I seriously doubt this will happen, it was planned or discussed, or even thought of.

You never know.

I’d look for menial jobs. To heck with the idiots who
won’t hire older folks.

Some places are going out of business looking for people
to fill some slots.

Ask around. Ask them if they know anyone hiring if they
can’t hire you.

I’m 71 and I entertain the thought of putting in some
hours somewhere.

You say we have a 1991 treaty with Ukraine? Please provide a source.

Here you go. It was 1994 though. My bad.

The Budapest Memorandum

That’s not a treaty. That’s just some Clinton agreement. Treaties have to go to the Senate for ratification.
Also, the signatory government of Ukraine was overthrown in 2014 and replaced by coup leaders.

If you murder you neighbor, you don’t suddenly get to take over his spot in any contracts he may have been party to.
