NEWTOWN, Pa. - Political signs in southeastern Pennsylvania have been found booby-trapped with razor blades, which resulted in sliced fingers for one resident, police said.
Upper Makefield Township police said Sunday that a campaign sign for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro was placed without permission on someone's property, and while trying to remove it the resident found that razor blades had been "placed around the perimeter of the sign."
"Obviously, this was designed to inflict punishment on anyone who attempted to remove the sign," police said in a social media post.

The Commonwealth’s Attorney General should immediately investigate. Oh wait … Shapiro doesn’t investigate Democrats.

“The resident” with the cut fingers was probably a republican known to the sign planter.
The assaults are becoming more frequent and “diverse”.

If they catch the perp, hopefully his/her name is released.

Why remove the sign? A can of spray paint would do the trick and make it totally ineffective.
"Hey, officer...I never laid a hand on any political sign."

I question whose “property” it was placed on. Political signs are often placed on the esplanade, within the public right-of-way, and cannot be removed by the property owner, should it conflict with their political views. Sounds like a vicious setup to me, and sadly, it worked.
If, in fact, it was on private property, the trespasser got what they deserved.

Bear spray - high concentration oleoresin capsicum - splashed on the BACK of the sign is fair game.
Same stuff you spray on car door handles when the jerk parks so close to your car you have to squeeze in or crawl in from the passenger side.
Caution: this suggestion void in areas under video observatioun.

What are the chances the blades were placed by rats who could then call our their opponents for doing such a vile thing?

Certainly there is a place for booby-trapping campaign signs, mostly Republican signs on residents' own property.
I prefer high voltage.

I think you might have it backwards.
The booby-trapped sign was placed on private property without permission, and when the person who actually owned the property tried to remove it (as was their right) they encountered the razors and injured themselves.

The sign was illegal and a booby trap for the home owner. He was the person injured when he tried to remove it. This was assault.
