Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that his policies will respect parents want their transgender children to use the bathroom and pronouns of their choice.
Anchor Jake Tapper said, “The American Academy of Pediatrics says these kinds of laws about bathrooms and excluding people, ignoring their gender identity, the American Academy of Pediatrics say these laws can increase anxiety, depression, and suicide in transgender youth. Did you talk to transgender youth?”
Youngkin said, “We’ve had interaction across the administration. What we’re not saying is there’s no accommodation. We’re saying parents have to be engaged in that situation. If a child and their parent, along with administrators and teachers, choose to have accommodations for that child, they’ll be granted. This is where I constantly get back to. I would ask people to read the policies.”

In the end Youngkin was a moderate Republican or to be more blunt a Fakeservative but the political propaganda machine had everyone drinking Kool Aid in the “Conservative Media Sphere” during the election campaign.
I would have voted for Youngkin if I lived in Virginia last year but with my eyes wide open and realistic expectations.

How about single use, ADA compliant unisex restroom and locker room facilities? But then the voyeur and exhibitionist communities will be offended. The hustle never ends with these freaks.

What he’s trying to do, is show how reasonable and accommodating he is. He’s trying to avoid being attacked by the liberals and media. He’s trying to walk that fine line.

We shouldn’t “respect” trans anything. Those people need mental therapy, not coerced conformation.
My understanding is that the new rule will allow the gender affirmation if the parents are involved and approve of it. This was to stop the schools from hiding the child’s new identity and in some cases, maybe most cases, encouraging the child in their new lifestyle at school. This includes the clothes closet issue. Many school districts in NOVA, Richmond area, Charlottesville area, and I assume around Norfolk are gearing to fight the change. The governor can’t stop a child and parents who wants this but is enforcing the trans-parency with the rule. The issue that is brought up the problem of a child who is gay or believes in their gender change and the parents/guardians and totally against this type of change. The schools are siding with the child over the parents even against existing laws/guidance but there are apposing rules state vs. federal that make this worse.
The lawsuit is not going to be pretty and will be very costly.
Then he is useless.

How many parents...REAL parents will agree to that?
THAT is what Youngkin is counting on. And I don’t see another way to treat this. He can’t command normal people to accept others’ debauchery.
