Kazakhstan, one of Russia's close ex-Soviet partners, will not recognise the possible annexation of Ukraine's eastern regions by Russia through referendums held there, the Central Asian nation's foreign ministry said on Monday..."As for the holding of referendums ... Kazakhstan proceeds from the principles of territorial integrity of states, their sovereign equivalence and peaceful coexistence," ministry spokesman Aibek Smadiyarov said.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some in the west/NATO/EU would say to Khazakhstan why not, we would dismiss the concerns you laid out if we felt like it and thought the country doing that would be an ally.

Ever thought that maybe the ‘Stans and Chechnya have had enough of being used by Russia as expendable cannon fodder for the illegal invasions of former SSRs that insist on being independent of Moscow?

Maybe they’re remembering the key word “independent” in the setup of the Commonwealth of Independent States. If Russia wants mobilisation to prop up its illegal annexations then Russia should use its own citizens from St and and Moscow.

Nobody mobilizes Kazakhs, they flock en-masse themselves, to earn green card and free college. Chechens are a specific culture who’d rather cover themselves with glory in battle than waste their time in office. Chechens generally hate the West, they believe stroked separatism in their country to their detriment. The same would be said about Ukrainians in a decade.

Russia gives more than a sht about Kazakhstan following it’s own path.

Kazakhstan veering away from toeing Putin’s line means that the 19th century Russian conquests of central asia are undone. Central Asia now sees Russia as the weak decaying state ig is. Expect Kazakhstan to veer more to the west.

Russia loses its soft underbelly

Kazakhstan and now Serbia won’t recognize that sham “vote.” More will step forward as well. They know garbage when they see it.

Russia does not give a toss what the US, EU, UK, Germany, NATO or the UN thinks or says over the matter of the Referenda. Given their utter hypocrisy of the matter and their hypocritical assertions of ‘rule of law’ which they use and abuse as a meme when they not getting their way. Be assured cause you getting ready to find out here shortly how much they give one sh*t about it.

Kazakhstan gives Russia the cold shoulder

Kazakhstan signed the Budapest Memorandums with Belarus and Ukraine to give up Soviet era nuclear weapons back to Russia. Now Russia has Belarus as a vassal state and is trying to conquer Ukraine.

At the SPIEF conference in June, The Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said while standing next to Putin and in front of other dignitaries he would not send troops or recognize the DPR and LPR, and challenged Russian Duma members who questioned Kazakhstan's independence. For members of the Duma to question Kazakhstan's independence is a bad signal. This was before the SCO conference where Xi may have had some hard words for Putin. Kazakhstan and China share borders too.

Kazakhstan is worried that if Ukraine falls they are next in line. A beaten Russia spending years rebuilding is a reduced threat to them.

Actually Russia does give more than a toss

That's why you are posting

also Lavrov's bleating about "Russophobia".

Going to tell you again, Russia does NOT give one sh*t what the collective West/EU/US/UK/NATO/UN thinks concerning the Referenda or their ‘recognition’ of such, period!

Both Lavrov and Putin have made this clear this past week.

The gloves are off as it directly pertains to Putin, Lavrov, and Russia.

You all keep dicking around with them and you all going to find out real quickly when the hammer drops after the Referenda. Again, Putin and Lavrov both have been insinuating and indicating such..... but again, the suicidal egomaniacal psychopaths that head the US, UK, EU, NATO and the UN are going to keep gaslighting and playing their games, to their detriment. Be assured.
