An earlier article mentioned that they were going to use sulfur dioxide crystals. As a gas, sulfur dioxide smells like rotten eggs and is highly toxic. In the form of crystals, it is soluble in water and will produce sulfuric acid. The penguins will love it.

There are always dangers with things like this. We could end up in a movie with Jake Gyllenhaal or Chris Evans, rather than a TV series with Jennifer Connolly, but it's nice to know that if polar ice caps melting is a real problem there is something that can be done to prevent it without all of the bureaucracy and b.s. and ranting Swedish dwarfs and John Kerry flying all over the world.
