Business Insider reported Friday that late last year, U.S. attorneys convened a grand jury to examine the conduct of Charles McGonigal, the former head of counterintelligence at the New York City FBI field office. A witness subpoena obtained by the outlet indicated that the government was looking into McGonigal’s business dealings with a top aide to Oleg Deripaska, a Russian oligarch who was an associate of Paul Manafort, who served for several months as Trump’s campaign manager.
NBC News reported in January 2018 that the Russian tycoon had been repeatedly denied a visa to enter the United States over his alleged ties to organized crime.
The FBI raided Deripaska’s homes in D.C. and New York City in October 2021.
The subpoena was issued in November 2021 and requested records related to McGonigal and a consulting firm called Spectrum Risk Solutions. In a separate filing a week after the subpoena was issued, a Soviet-born immigrant named Sergey Shestakov said McGonigal had helped “facilitate” an introduction between a Deripaska aide and Spectrum. McGonigal also reportedly introduced the aide to a law firm specializing in advising clients investigated for “fraud and misconduct.”

Any deep state actors who are being “investigated” currently are part of a scheme to quickly charge them in front of a favorable DC or NYC jury and get an acquittal before Biden leaves office.

That is a real possibility. When the Ivan Danchenko trial gets underway it will look like it even more.
He should have chosen some ties from America. There are so many good ones that coordinate well with fabrics and colors this season.
An “investigation” means they can answer “no comment on an ongoing investigation” until interest wanes.

McCarthy never found a “witch” in his hamhanded investigations. Read my late friend’s book (M. Stanton Evans), “Blacklisted by History” for a newer view on McCarthy and his investigations.
By the way, McCarthy was a nasty bastard and did hurt other internal security investigations. Also he and Roy Cohen sometimes didn’t understand the actual history or value/lack of any value of a specific document (which I showed Stan Evans when he found one of McCarthy’s original Reds in Government lists in the National Archives).

I seem to remember that McCarthy had a drinking problem but who didn’t those days in DC. What I find most interesting is McCarthy’s close relationship with the Kennedy clan. I remember reading that he used to date one of the Kennedy girls (obviously not Rosemary!). Don’t forget RFK was a lawyer working under Cohen.
