Why Barr is breaking from Trump — and the GOP — over Mar-a-Lago search

Former Attorney General William Barr has emerged as one of the most prominent conservatives to suggest former President Trump may be in serious legal jeopardy over his handling of sensitive materials, underscoring the growing divide between the former president and his onetime staunch ally.

Barr has become a regular presence on Fox News over the past few weeks, weighing in on the FBI search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and subsequent court battles over what the Department of Justice (DOJ) can do with what it found.

Barr may be “prominent” but in no way, shape or form is he a “conservative”.

Barr allowed the Meuller investigation even though he knew that there was nothing there. He knew the investigators were 18 angry democrats. He allowed it to tear up the country for two years.

Barr has always been an enemy of the people.

Barr has emerged as one of the most prominent conservatives

Barr is another reason I no longer identify as a conservative. I'm a free, independent American citizen who considers issues on their merit, free from the weight of slobs like Barr. I belong to no team, no political party and no labels apply to me.

I imagine Bill has some worry about what those docs contain in regards to Bill Barr.

Barr is the Republican Establishment, served a Bush as in Bush 41 who was once Director of the CIA when William Barr worked there as a young man.

Barr “is breaking” with Trump now because of Mar-A-Lago?

Barr broke with Trump the day he was installed as AG. That was his assignment as embedded saboteur.

Barr resigned as AG right before Christmas 2020 to get out of town before the DOJ trap was sprung on January 6th.

No mention that Barr had Hunter’s Laptop in December of 2019. No mention that Barr and Pompeo recommended Gina Haspel to be director of the CIA, even though she was the station chief that oversaw the Russian Collusion narrative. No mention that Barr allowed Antifa and BLM to destroy cities and didn’t lift a finger. No mention that Barr was in Intel before he was DOJ. No mention that Barr’s father was OSS, who then ran the Dalton School in NYC and hired Jeffrey Epstein, who didn’t have a college degree. Its just Orange Man Bad.

Have you read his book? He’s extremely proud of the Trump administration’s accomplishments and the America First agenda but furious with how those achievements became overshadowed by “stolen election” He recognized the unfairness of Trump’s treatment throughout his presidency, debunks the 1/6 as legal insurrection myth and the importance of Trump as a fighter.

He, in my mind correctly, argues it was Trump’s election to lose and Trump was his own worst enemy in the closing months of the 2020 election cycle. He details his review of stolen election claims.

He says Trump dismissed calls for him to tone down his rhetoric in order to win over suburban voters and battle Trump fatigue. Voters preferred Trump policies and their results but didn’t like all the drama. He also blames Trump petulance for the runoff losses in Georgia that cost Republicans the US Senate. He fears Trump won’t do the necessary things to win back the White House in 2024.

Absolutely the Dems exploited Covid, mail ballots and other things but Trump could’ve won anyway if he had acted more “presidential” to appeal to voters on the fence. Ultimately Trump is responsible for his loss in 2020 which Barr called the most important in his life time.

I’m no fan of Barr, but his comments are always taken out of context with regard to this issue. The media intentionally leaves important parts out of the story in order to enflame readers. Seems to have worked based on these comments.
