Retired CIA director Mike Hayden tweeted his agreement with a British journalist’s claim on Wednesday that the Republican Party is the most “nihilistic, dangerous and contemptible” political force he had seen in the world.
On Wednesday, Financial Times columnist Edward Luce tweeted, “I’ve covered extremism and violent ideologies around the world over my career. Have never come across a political force more nihilistic, dangerous & contemptible than today’s Republicans. Nothing close.”
Hayden shared Luce’s tweet, adding, “I agree. And I was the CIA Director.”
Hayden’s comment follows a swipe he took at former President Donald Trump last week following the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort.
Hayden shared a photo of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were executed after being convicted of passing U.S. nuclear secrets to the Soviet Union. Hayden shared the photo of the Rosenbergs after anonymous reports that Trump had classified nuclear documents at Mar-a-Lago.
After presidential historian and Trump critic Michael Beschloss first shared the photo of the Rosenbergs with the caption “Rosenbergs were convicted for giving U.S. nuclear secrets to Moscow, and were executed June 1953,” Hayden tweeted, “Sounds about right,” implying support for a similar fate for Trump...

Hayden is a traitor, he knows he is a traitor and he knows you know he is a traitor. He is worried about being held accountable for being a traitor.
Whomever is in power will feel threatened by those who seek to challenge or remove their power. And boy oh boy, the libs stand to lose a lot. So we can always expect them to go crazy if a challenge is looming over the horizon.
And just look at all the Republican leaders denouncing these comments from Hayden - oh that’s right not a SINGLE ONE has denounced him.
