What's in it for you? Five cash benefits in the Democrats' climate and health bill

Unlike with the Covid relief packages in recent years, there would be no direct payments or checks in the mail for broad swaths of people. So what’s in it for ordinary Americans?

Medicare beneficiaries’ yearly out-of-pocket drug expenses would be capped at $2,000 starting in 2025. Today, there is no cap. Medicare seniors would also have the option of spreading out the expenses over monthly payments.

In addition, the bill would grant them free recommended vaccines, including vaccines for Covid and shingles.

The bill would offer a credit of up to $7,500 for qualified “clean” vehicles, including popular models from General Motors, Tesla and others.

The credit would drop for vehicles that don't meet all the requirements for electricity power and mineral or battery components, according to details provided to NBC News by the Senate Finance Committee.

Trump “had” a drug plan. It seemed to have disappeared. Made all drugs the same price so that we weren’t subsidizing the entire world.

Guess they missed the parts about the EVs that will not be qualified for the tax credit. Which if I recall, is about all of them.

As expected, nothing in it for me.

Except a new army of IRS agents, of course.

The biggest thing I see in the tax bill for me is an IRS audit. We need to go to a flat tax and eliminate the IRS

Imagine that a group of criminals breaks into a house, ties up all the residents who live there, and then go through the place stealing whatever cash and other valuable items they find.

Then on the way out, they give a $20 bill to each of the victims and say: “See? We care about you! Don’t spend it all in one place.”

That is our government today.

It'll take a battalion of lawyers to answer your question

New requirements include that the cars must be assembled in North America and that materials and “critical minerals” in the battery must come from the US or a country with a free trade agreement with the US.

I’ve heard that credit is only good if the battery is made in America?
