Texas man killed by same bullet he used to shoot woman in the neck, police say

A man who allegedly shot a woman in the neck was killed this weekend when the bullet also hit him, Dallas police said.

Dallas Police officers responded late Saturday morning to reports of a shooting at a residence in the city. Officers found a "large amount of blood and a blood trail," but the apartment was empty, according to a news release.

During that time, police also received a call from a nearby hospital complex that a man and woman with apparent gunshot wounds had been found in a vehicle outside. The man died in the hospital but the woman survived and has since been released, police said.

Police identified the deceased man as Byron Redmon, 26, and classified the shooting as a a domestic dispute.

A guy I worked with almost got both himself and the soon to be ex-wife in one shot. He put a.357 revolver under his chin and pulled the trigger. Wrong angle and only blew part of his jaw off. The bullet went thru the ceiling and almost hit the wife, who was packing a suitcase in the room above. His BAC was .34

I've read this story from several different sites, and I'm still confused about how you could shoot someone in the neck and have the bullet enter your leg at the point where it would cause you to die from the wound. Femoral artery shot would obviously cause a person to bleed out like that, but how it the world did this happen? I just can't picture it in my head. Did the bullet ricochet off a bone in the women and then enter the guy's leg?

One of the worst things I’ve heard was some young guy who tried to commit suicide - put a shotgun under his chin, fired & it blew the whole front of his face off ... no face, no eyes, either. He survived .... a fate much worse, I suspect, than what he had planned.

For those too young to remember—the ‘magic bullet’ (according to official reports) entered the back of JFK’s neck, exited the front of his neck, then went through the back of governor Connelly’s shoulder, exited his chest, went through his wrist and penetrated his thigh. After all of that the bullet called it a day and was found on the gurney that brought Connelly to the Parkland hospital. Amazingly, and to many unbelievably, the bullet was in nearly pristine condition.
