The Power of Siberia
Armstrong Economics ^ | 28 July 22 | Martin Armstrong

Sanctions strengthened Putin and caused “unfriendly nations” to form a closer alliance against the West. As the West suffers from an energy crisis with no solution in sight, Russia is benefitting from this in more ways than one. You may have heard of the China–Russia East-Route Natural Gas pipeline or the Yakutia–Khabarovsk–Vladivostok pipeline. Construction was approved in 2007, and in 2012, Putin ordered Gazprom to begin construction and renamed the project “Power of Siberia.” China and Russia signed a 30-year deal for $400 billion in 2014, and by December 2019, the pipeline was functional. The mainstream media focuses on the failure of the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline at the hands of German politicians but forgets that Russia has alternative options for exporting fuel. Deliveries through the Power of Siberia have only reached $3.81 billion since December 2019, but China and Russia have plans to ramp up distribution. China received 16.5 billion cubic meters of gas from the pipeline in 2021. The deal has become so lucrative that Beijing and Moscow created a second pipeline – the Power of Siberia 2. This could double exports from Russia to China with a pipeline that would pass through Mongolia as well. In the first six months of 2022, Gazprom exported 7.5 billion cubic meters of gas to China, marking a 63.4% uptick in volume. Prior to the invasion of Ukraine in early February, China and Russia agreed to ramp up distribution by 10 billion cubic meters. Reuters believes this could increase sales by $37.5 billion in the next 25 years, but this could increase given the high demand and low availability. The West, namely Europe, needed Russian energy; Russia did not need Europe. President Biden admitted long ago that sanctions do not work, but in this instance, they completely backfired and have left the West with no leverage over Russian energy.

We can once again thank senile Joe’s ill thought out sanctions and weaponizing the dollar. He never did his homework, Vlads reverse sanctions crippled the West.

The new “ era” is upon us, at this rate it is conceivable Vlad will continue Checkmating the West, until we become irreversibly crippled and irrelevant.

Thank you Vegetable head, and to all the war cheerleaders.

Article stats.....”The deal has become so lucrative that Beijing and Moscow created a second pipeline – the Power of Siberia 2. This could double exports from Russia to China with a pipeline that would pass through Mongolia as well. “.....

Hand in glove with the Belt and Road Initiative —— where all roads lead to China.

When China reconquers Siberia I wonder what the new name for the pipeline will be?

The region needs people. Where to get them? People who are not a threat to Moscow and who can live in harsh climates. Geographically it may not be much bigger than the CONUS. Maps are deceptive and I’ll stand corrected with proof. Penal colony-the old Gulag. We pay for them to take our felons who in turn develop the region. The Gulag, like Devil’s island was a failure. Perhaps Guantanamo too due to costs. Capitol punishment on a mass scale? That would be genocide.

Nope. Now you neocons try to push a Russia/China conflict. But you just spent a few decades cultivating Russia as an enemy and driving China and Russia together. Now they are fully economic allies, and are becoming military allies.
Nice work from the DC retards.

Do you actually believe the regime agenda is authored by sloJoe? I would say ‘wake up’ but that phrase lost meaning when the left dec ided to call their agenda of degenerate lifestyles ‘wokeness’.

“Now you neocons try to push a Russia/China conflict.”

No, you’re just in denial over the fact that China is no more trustworthy than Russia is. If the Chinese decide that it’s in their best interests to take back Siberia from the Russians then they will do so.

Earlier this year the Chinese moved a bunch of PLA units into so-called Ghost Cities in Heilongjiang and there’s no indication that they’ve departed.

Maybe it’s just an exercise.

Unfortunately for Russia, the small pipelines in the East to China, are not connected to the fields that supply Europe, and they are too far away to connect (several time zones).

Those Western fields (about 85% of Russia’s former gas exports) are going to mostly shut down, and they will have to start over to build new fields in the East and pipelines to China, as best as they can.

Raising exports to China by 63.4% may sound good, but is only about 1/10th of the commensurate reduction in Russia’s former exports to Europe.

Overall, Russian natural gas exports have plummeted in half.

Not a chance. You retards have made them allies. And a Chinese invasion would get them nuked. Russia’s arsenal is immense compared to the Chinese one.

But in any case, they have both decided to trade, run all of Asia and be rich. China has the manufacturing, Russia has the resources and energy. There is no need to invade when a simple business contract and a new trade currency works just as well.

Neocon retards.
