Given that the smallest unit that has a general is a brigade, I’d say this is a lot. Unless, of course, Ukrainians use generals where we’d use lieutenants. That would still be 50 X 40 = 2000 men who bit the dust with them.

Sounds like the Obama generals, it takes a lot of generals to lead when they have very little leadership ability.

If it’s 50 macaroni noodles, no.

50 Generals, yes!

Maybe, but Russia shouldn’t have to be screwing around with Ukraine, months after the invasion.

Did Putin really want tit for tat news releases about who’s doing better each day for months?

This was supposed to be over in a week.

Didn’t say they killed 50 generals. It says generals and officers.

Russia always wanted to disarm NATO, I think they may have stumbled on a way to do it, get NATO to give their weapons to an adversary of Russia. It may take a while for NATO to figure this out, but they will lose a ton of weapons and some will slip into Russian hands, makes espionage unnecessary.

We should be pressuring Zelensky into accepting a loss and ending this madness before the death toll runs up any higher. Nobody is really gaining much from this.

Neocons are people who want as many Americans dead as possible in endless losing wars all over the world and root for nuclear war.

If that is an honor, enjoy it.

I doubt this is true.

There is no need to pull numerous Generals and Officers from their commands to conduct a meeting that can be held on secured communications.

It’s 2022 not 1943.

I think Team BlueAndYellow just dropped into second place, and Chris Jewers, sWill Stewart and Liz Truss are saddened.

It probably was 50 children, but Russia swears those children were generals.

I agree. Why would you bring together that many Generals in one location in the middle of a war? That makes no sense.

QUESTIONABLE SOURCE

A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for the purpose of profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact checked on a per article basis. Please note sources on this list are not considered fake news unless specifically written in the reasoning section for that source. See all Questionable sources.

Overall, we rate Tasnim News Questionable based on the promotion of state propaganda and conspiracy theories as well as use of poor sources.

Detailed Report

Reasoning: State Propaganda, Conspiracy, Poor Sourcing
Country: Iran
World Press Freedom Rank: Iran 170/180

History

Launched in 2012, Tasnim News Agency is an English language news website from Iran. Majid Gholizadeh is the managing director and as of 2014, the headquarters is based in Tehran.

In addition to Persian reporting, Tasnim News Agency also provides news in Turkish, which features World and National Politics, Opinions, a wide variety of political, social, economic, and international subjects.

Tasnim News Agency describes its mission as “Defending the Islamic Revolution against negative media propaganda campaign and providing our readers with realities on the ground about Iran and Islam, especially the current wave of the Islamic Awakening in the region are top on our agenda in Tasnim News Agency.”

Funded by / Ownership

Tasnim is owned and funded by the Islamic Ideology Dissemination Organization (IIDO), which promotes Islamic ideology.

Analysis / Bias

Tasnim has strong links with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and according to The Guardian the US accuses the IRGC of terror mainly because of its military support for Hezbollah and Hamas, organizations that the US and EU have both designated as terrorist groups.

Although the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) don’t openly affiliate themselves with any political parties, the Alliance of Builders of Islamic Iran (ABADGARAN) is widely viewed as a political front for the Revolutionary Guards and they are described as “Iran’s neocons”, therefore we rate the political stance of Tasnim as right-wing bias.

Reporters without Borders has reported Iran as “One of the most oppressive countries” According to reporters without borders 2019 report, Iran ranks 170 out of 180 countries in the World Press Freedom Index.

The content of headlines and articles use loaded words pertaining to national news such as “Battle against Daesh Still Continuing in Cultural, Ideological Fields: Iran’s Shamkhani” However, they poorly source their articles, heavily quoting without sourcing or providing links to the original source. In general, they promote pro-state propaganda and anti-west conspiracies.

Overall, we rate Tasnim News Questionable based on the promotion of state propaganda and conspiracy theories as well as the use of poor sources.

They give the exact same rating to One America News, and they have Fox News as Far Right, just short of extreme.

Believe what you want.

QAnon drops... really???

“A lot of QAnon communities we’re aware of have pivoted on to other topics, like vaccine conspiracies and claims about the Biden Administration,” Holt said. “In that way, they’re plugging in to broader misinformation and disinformation ecosystems online, which tend to reach more people.” Still, the researchers found that these groups aren’t pushing “Q-specific” content the way they may have in the past.”

The original source doesn’t say 50 generals, but 50 officers, including generals.

Nope, exactly the opposite is true. Once I hear about something outrageous, allegedly happening within the Russian force, I know that Ukraine is about to get caught at it. Proved true in 90% of cases.

RT (formerly Russia Today or Rossiya Segodnya is a Russian state-controlled international television network funded by the Russian government. It operates pay television or free-to-air channels directed to audiences outside of Russia, as well as providing Internet content in Russian, English, Spanish, French, German and Arabic.

RT is a brand of TV-Novosti, an autonomous non-profit organization founded by the Russian state-owned news agency RIA Novosti.

RT has regularly been described as a MAJOR PROPAGANDA OUTLET for the Russian government and its foreign policy.

Academics, fact-checkers, and news reporters (including some current and former RT reporters) have identified RT as a PURVEYOR OF DISINFORMATION.”

*****

You need to widen your point of view. This is 2022, there is no objective news source available. Everything has some hair on it. Treat them all like a cafeteria food line.
