Ukraine is now facing "massive losses" with Russia overpowering Ukraine's ammunition and artillery store.
There has been a rise in desertion as morale declines, says an intelligence report seen by The Independent.
Up to 200 Ukrainian soldiers are killed every day, an aide to President Zelenskyy told the BBC on Friday, and there are now signs that Ukrainian fighters' morale is starting to buckle.
The report, says Kim Sengupta of The Independent, describes the spike in deaths as having "a seriously demoralizing effect on Ukrainian forces as well as a very real material effect; cases of desertion are growing every week."

There were plenty of desertions in the US Civil War. There were desertions in WWI from the French and the Germans. There have been desertions in every war.

It was obvious from the get go that this last NATO domino, 300 miles from Moscow, was a hill Putin would die on, if necessary. The only way to expel Russia was with a direct AMERICAN effort. Ukraine realized this early on and was in serious negotiations through the Turkish mediation effort. The dirty corrupt warmongers in DC subverted the process. The longer this continues, the more blood accumulates on the hands of the scum in the White House and Capitol.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, but if a foreign country invaded my country, I would be cheering public execution of the invading soldiers. I guess the Ukes have more self control than me.

Did the Afghans outnumber or outgun the Soviets?

There is no way the Ukies, even with Western arms can stop this. Putin tried the blitzkrieg thing but neither his leadership, troops, equipment were up to the task and the drones and Javelins ate him up. But this is Zhukov type war now. Line up every piece of Arty you have and just keep firing. The Ukies are just getting killed. Someone in the leadership of the Ukie military had better tell Zelensky and tell him soon.
The Russians love artillery, especially when it is massed which is probably not such a good idea in today’s warfare.
