Top lithium producer Albemarle Corp (ALB.N) may have to shut its Langelsheim plant in Germany if the metal used in electric vehicle batteries is declared a hazardous material by the European Union, its finance chief told Reuters.
Lithium's pivotal role in electric vehicles makes it an important commodity in meeting global targets to cut carbon emissions, and it was added to the EU's list of critical raw materials in 2020.

Mining will be going on in the UKR region if the Russians permanently take the Donbas as there are huge deposits of rare metals for battery making there. Something else theRussian will exploit and sell to the EU while the EU will back door the sale while saying all is well to their own woke nimrods.
On a global scale, The Chinese already poisoned industrial areas of Their country making car batteries and solar panels so fufu, pajama people in the West can keep there hands and minds clean, living in a rose-colored, ecofriendly universe while protesting the cause of the week. Many years ago there was a quiet EU resolution passed enacting RoHs guidelines.
I noticed many years later when I could no longer melt solder with my traditional Iron, and got pissed when fixing stuff got so much more difficult.
I spent a few days trying to figure out where it originally came from with no success.

CONGRATULATIONS - you’re one of the VERY FEW people on our side who understands them. Most here think they have ‘good intentions’, but are misguided. They’re not, they know EXACTLY what they’re doing, and they are PURE EVIL.

The only good things which came from the “Global warming” hoax are the lithium ion batteries. Before them, all the handheld cordless tools were useless. Badly underpowered and in need of constant recharging.
Now they are pretty useful.

I’ve always said the energy policy of the Left is no energy. As soon as they get us all in electric cars, they will start metering electrical usage to a level where only the chosen will be mobile.

Absolutely, and a HUGE OBSTACLE in their way is Putin, or more generally, Russia. For as long as Russian energy is cheap and abundant, countries NOT run by Neocons will have the option to use that energy, and they will run circles around the West, which is committing Hairy Kerry on a not stop basis.
Shut down lithium production while requiring transition to electric cars.
No lithium, no cellphones,no laptops,no tablets,no handheld powertools,no portable oxygen machines,no portable medical devices,no rechargeable pacemakers,no handheld police radio’s,no handheld GPS for the military,satcoms for specops, no military drones,no civilian drones,no remote sensing buoys,no underwater autonomous vehicles,no....you get the idea the foundation of modern electronics is built on the energy density of Li-ion cells. None of these modern devices could exist without those cells. Nickel metal hydride would double the size and weight of the pack , nicads even worse. It’s not just cars the modern techno world depends on lithium.
