Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) and a veteran journalist got into a Twitter spat on Sunday evening after the GOP representative praised the new film “Top Gun: Maverick.”
“The new @TopGunMovie was awesome,” Kinzinger wrote.
In response, Yashar Ali, who contributes to New York Magazine and the Huffington Post, quote tweeted Kinzinger and criticized him for complimenting the movie.
“Not kidding when I say this tweet will be shown to Scientologists as an example of Tom Cruise’s excellence and how he is the most dedicated Scientologist,” he wrote, referring to Cruise’s membership in the Church of Scientology.

Lesson: you can never sell out enough for the left.
I can’t wait to see the movie. Several neighbors saw it this past weekend and raved about it, wanting to see it again. The neighbors said something about American values that once were and must become again.
Kinzinger is developing the online profile of mass shooter 💩🤡
or a red flag candidate
The reporter does make a completely valid point. How many thousands of people has Scientology boy Cruise led into utter, eternal darkness by promoting his demented fake religion?
Liz Cheney wouldn't like you very much if she heard you say that.
Not to mention the billion year contract. Worse than a damn time share. 🤣
You have to give it to Pelosi.
She screws McCarthy over appointing real Republicans and puts this nose picker on her little Inquisition commission and gives him priceless publicity when we all know he’s dead man walking.
But the damage is done. She gets to define who a Real Republican should be: a whiny, whipped little boy saying “Yes Mistress” to Big Mommy. And that’s what the world see’s as “The Republicans”.
Gotta hand it to the Commie Gangsta Girl. She knows how to paint people.
I for one can’t wait when the Left throws him overboard. He’s their useful idiot now, but after the midterms they’ll have no use for him. Kinzinger will be completely stranded.
Lesson: you can never sell out enough for the left.

This!
I have no use for Kinzinger, Scientology, or Tom Cruise. But if the movie was good, and Kinzinger liked it, I don’t have a problem with him saying so. Anyone who “joins/sticks with” Scientology because Cruise is a good actor is a fool anyway.
I disagree. Saying that you like “Top Gun” (or any movie in which Cruise appears) isn’t an endorsement of Scientology. I can’t stand Kinzinger, but it’s unfair to slam him for this. I’ve enjoyed numerous movies in which I disapprove of the views of the actors. If I say that I like “The Godfather,” am I endorsing Diane Keaton’s support for the Clintons and Obama?
It’s mind-boggling, I know, that “thousands” have been led astray by Scientology nonsense, and celebrity endorsements such as that of Tom Cruise are largely to blame.
People dumb enough to buy such nonsense are especially vulnerable to celebrity endorsements.
But keep in mind that thousands out of millions is not a high percentage. Sadly, there are thousands who believe the earth is flat.
So, when it comes to mass deceptions, Scientology, flat earth societies, and other fringe weirdo beliefs - they are not too scary.
If you want a scary deception, what about the fact that around 60% of Americans (over 200 million people) believe Joe Biden won fair and square in 2020? What about the fact that 40% (over 130 million) actually approve of the job he’s doing?
Now that’s scary!
How’s her husbamd doing?
In Marin County?
He’ll walk with a kiss.
It’s worth seeing, awesome as he says, though it should be seen on an IMAX screen to get the full effect!
