Russia will pull out of the International Space Station over economic sanctions: report

The head of Russia's space agency said the country would leave the International Space Station, per Bloomberg.

The head of Russia's space agency on Saturday said that the country would leave the International Space Station, which Moscow said is the result of economic sanctions imposed as a result of the country's conflict in Ukraine, according to Bloomberg.

Two Russian state news agencies — Tass and RIA Novosti — on Saturday reported that Roscosmos General Director Dmitry Rogozin said in an interview that the decision had already been affirmed.

"The decision has been taken already, we're not obliged to talk about it publicly," he reportedly said on state television. "I can say this only — in accordance with our obligations, we'll inform our partners about the end of our work on the ISS with a year's notice."

Rogozin earlier in April blasted the litany of Western economic sanctions imposed on Russia, stating that Roscosmos would halt cooperation on the International Space Station with NASA and the European Space Agency.

"I believe that the restoration of normal relations between partners in the International Space Station and other joint projects is possible only with the complete and unconditional lifting of illegal sanctions,"

The most corrupt country is Australia. What a 3rd world bleep hole place. Full of loud mouthed homos. I think thats why they like being forced by their government to be locked down so they can engage in that activity 24/7. Here is hoping the CHICOMS invade that hellhole and straighten the inmates of the prison colony out.

“There are not that many countries in the world who are more corrupt than the US.”

Fewer that are less .

This is good. The Russians should never have been allowed to be part of the ISS in the first place. They can stick with their BFF’s, i.e. the CHICOMS, the Norks, and the Mullahs.

You obviously know Jack shit about China. Try building anything there, or running a business there.

Isn’t the ISS supposed to be shut down in the next few years anyway?

Don’t know, don’t really care. Last time I posted a comment that maybe the only ones that did were assorted grade schools around the country that wouldn’t be able to send up class science experiments, someone accused me of being a meany and not caring about all the ISS support workers who would get laid off.

"Sell the Russian modules to Musk and Spacex."

Spacex already has its own "man-qualified" capsule which, IIRC, has done the round trip to the space station twice.

Musk is kicking Russian ass....

You’re right. The Deep State/Globalists didn’t want Trump to establish a decent relationship with Russia.

Good. We should never have brought them in for the leftists' kumbaya BS in the first place. Good riddance. Rogozin's just a stooge, spewed about how Russian rockets would no longer supply or support the ISS, and that without Roscosmos -- which almost destroyed the station via malfunctions and incompetence not that long ago -- the whole thing would just plummmet to a fiery end with helpless Americans inside. What a buffoon, just like his murderous boss.

It is the Tesla of Space Travel. The one thing about SpaceX is the incredible data processing skills they have. All one has to do is look at the Booster re-use. It is remarkable!

The cost of the Space Station relative to the science it has given is obscene. We could have gained this science at a fraction of the cost with unmanned satellites.

It was really all about public prestige. Bring the personnel home and de-orbit the damn thing over the pacific.

And they sent NASA astronauts to the ISS during the period when NASA couldn’t.

'NASA' still can't. But Elon can.

They put the first human and satellite in space.

Only because we didn't listen to von Braun. He proposed a satellite launch in 1954, saying it could be done in the 1955-56 time frame. He was ignored. Same thing for the first manned flight.

After the Apollo 11 moon landing, he was asked how we beat the Russians to the moon when they had such a headstart. He said, "Because our Germans were better than their Germans.

No, actually you could not. THE main type of data gained is the long-term effects of weightlessness on the human organism. Only way to get that is to have humans there.

Oh well I think they’re getting their astronauts out of danger for when they start hitting satellites like GPS satellites
