The government is beholden to Musk...WHO transports their astronauts??? IT isn’t NASA.
“Demand”, huh. The Marxists skip right over “invite”.
As announced in Wilkinson v. United States (1961), a congressional committee must meet three requirements for its subpoenas to be "legally sufficient." First, the committee's investigation of the broad subject area must be authorized by its chamber; second, the investigation must pursue "a valid legislative purpose" but does not need to involve legislation and does not need to specify the ultimate intent of Congress; and third, the specific inquiries must be pertinent to the subject matter area that has been authorized for investigation.
So far as I know, no committee has been authorized by the House to investigate anything; that aside, what valid legislative purpose would be met is highly questionable. Moreover, insulting and bullying a private citizen carries with it the danger of retaliation by that individual within the elective process. Musk is well within his rights to start a few PACs to throw the bums out.
Moreover, this event would only highlight some of the shameful actions of Twitter, to a broad audience.
The government needs SpaceX more than SpaceX needs the government.
I think we can rule out any hitcharides with Russia as well.
I’m surprised they aren’t having him testify about 1/6.
.
Let them do it. Musk is very popular with young people and it would be a good thing for them to see Democrats trying to drag him through the mud. Let the young see what liberal tyranny looks like when it is wielded against someone they like.
Musk, the ChiComs wouldn't sell the Bidens to me!
If Elon Musk does agree to testify, IMHO, he should require “LIVE” television coverage — so the Dems can’t selectively “cut-and-paste” or selectively “leak” fake “snippets” from that testimony to “justify” their future efforts to censor or otherwise cripple Mr. Musk’s new TRUTHFUL Twitter.
We have seen the Dems play such “games” before.
The statements of Adam Scheisse Kopf come immediately to mind....
Are they really going to try to tell him how to run his company?
WOW!
I think there is something in Twitter’s financial records the Democrats are gravely worried about.
The Communist Party is not big on Free Speech.
I would think it is the US Gov that is beholden to Musk.
If Musk decides to end SpaceX the US manned space program
goes down the drain. Confidence in that newly created,
outrageously expensive monstrosity known as SLS is not
high and Boeing's attempt at creating a new space vehicle
is fast becoming a joke.
Wow/Excellent ! :-))
Where does it say Congress has unlimited subpoena power? My understanding is it can only be used as part of an ongoing investigation or in writing legislation.

As far as I know, Congress has no legitimate investigative power, unless the investigation is tethered to legislation.
I'm not sure where you get "unlimited" from "inherent."
The power of a legislative body to compel testimony for legislative purposes is a "common law" principle, generally meaning it is rooted in judge-made law that traces back through this country's British roots. SCOTUS has recognized the subpoena and contempt powers of Congress. I could dig up a cite or two, but I think you're better off looking for yourself if the below isn't enough.
CRS RL34097 - Congressional Contempt Power
Bottom third of page 2 (page 6 of the pdf) is an excerpt of SCTOUS case.
The general problem we have with the federal government is that all the branches and administrative agencies abuse their power in many ways, and they back each other up in the shared corrupt endeavor.
All Musk needs to do is counter every Democrat question with the payoffs they have received from Facebook (Suckaberg), Amazon (Bezos), ad inifitum:
Booker: "We's very concernedadah dats you be changing Twitter rules."Musk: "Is it true, Mr. Booker that you took $44,000 from Facebook, not even including the 2020 cycle?
Booker: "What's dat? Who? *sputter* *consults with aide* Dat not part of dis diskussion... "
Musk: "Why not? Did you ask for more? *smile*"
The Free Press Clause protects publication of information and opinions, and applies to a wide variety of media. In Near v. Minnesota (1931) and New York Times v. United States (1971), the Supreme Court ruled that the First Amendment protected against prior restraint—pre-publication censorship—in almost all cases. The Petition Clause protects the right to petition all branches and agencies of government for action. In addition to the right of assembly guaranteed by this clause, the Court has also ruled that the amendment implicitly protects freedom of association.
