The Los Angeles Times’s editorial board announced on Thursday that it was endorsing Republican Lanhee Chen in California’s controller race, saying “California needs a fiscal watchdog.”

The newspaper’s editorial board said they were endorsing Chen because they believe that the controller, who looks at how taxpayer money is being spent by government divisions and can audit government agencies, “should be as independent from the party in power as possible.”

Because of this endorsement, the Democrat might only get 59% of the vote instead of 60% of the vote.

If the LAT is recommending him, he’d make the worst RINO other than himself
look like Ronald Reagan.

He's safely in the spotlight to take the blame for the Democrats' mess in two years when 2024 comes rolling around.

It's just like Biden blaming Republicans for not having solutions to the inflation mess that Biden created; pretty soon the LA Times will start blaming Chen for not having solutions to the financial mess that state Democrats created.

Then the Democrats can wash their hands of the blame and go back to being a single-party state.

It took them what - 50 years? - to figure this out? Just another reason why we should not trust these editorial “brain trusts.” They are just as stupid as (fill in the blank).

On the positive side, maybe they are waking up. Only time will tell.
