Democrats embrace politically risky strategy on rising gas prices

President Biden and congressional Democrats united Tuesday behind a ban on Russian oil and natural gas imports, embracing a politically risky strategy that is expected to drive up already-rising fuel prices while seeking to pin the blame for Americans’ pain at the pump on Vladimir Putin.

In a speech announcing the ban, Biden acknowledged it would probably result in more expensive gas for consumers in the United States, a potentially perilous admission for a president who has been scrambling to head off Republican attacks over the rising cost of groceries, rent and other items.

Biden frequently named the Russian president as he explained his decision. “Putin’s war is already hurting American families at the gas pump,” he said. “Since Putin began his military buildup on Ukrainian borders — just since then — the price of the gas at the pump in America went up 75 cents. And with this action, it’s going to go up further. I’m going to do everything I can to minimize Putin’s price hike here at home.”

Biden’s directive quickly sharpened battle lines ahead of the November midterms. Many Republicans also embraced the ban on Russian oil, which the White House hoped would make it harder for them to attack Biden. But GOP leaders quickly noted that gas prices were climbing even before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and they blamed Biden’s limits on domestic oil production for exacerbating the shortfall.

“Don’t be fooled,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said. “This was more than a year in the making.”

And the GOP needs to remind voters that Biden bragged he went toe to toe with Putin, and obviously with Ukraine Biden has demonstrated he's a loser.

What people always fail to factor is that Dems believe they can control the Media, the News, and determine the issues (a la Chris Wallace).

The Republicans stay silent and many will blame Putin.

Everyone thought Hunter Biden was going to be a big part of the debates, the Media simply ignored it.

Asking Iran and Venezuela to bail your ass out isn’t all that great of a look either, Joey. That should be good campaign add fodder.

The toe to toe with Putin is killing our markets, driving up inflation, wiping out retirement accounts, and will wipe out all out investments. But Hey, Joe and the Dem Media will tell us this is all good for us to love everything.

dementia joe was absolutely insane to go it alone in ordering an embargo on russian energy imports, when he could’ve waited a day or so for Congress instead to pass a BI-PARTISAN law banning such imports, thereby forcing the GOP to share in the blame for high energy prices ... he let the GOP off scot free ..

Unless the average voter is 2+2=5 stupid, this strategy will fail because the gas crisis wouldn't exist if we were energy independent.
You can blame rasPutin all you want; he didn't end the XL pipeline or ban offshore drilling or close off ANWR, or....

Biden is a bottom feeding puss. He can bring the gas prices back down by tearing up every piece of paper his Snowflakes and Princesses had him sign since he took office. Let’s Go Brandon! You friggin’ retard.

Look at what Voters believed last time.

Biden said he was for Defunding Police.

He said he would do away with Fossil Fuels.

He said he would Cure Cancer.

He said he would do away with all Standardized Testing in schools.

He said Donald Trump could’ve prevented every single case of Coronavirus.

He said that it was Xenophobic and wrong to ban travelers from areas with high numbers of Coronavirus from coming here.

And they Voted him in.

Biden lost the majority of the people in August after Afghanistan. This “strategy” won’t change people’s mind. For those 50% of Americans with below average IQs they might buy into it’s Putin’s fault until they go to the grocery store. They won’t be able figure out that petroleum prices impact food prices. That’s you Democrat base right there. Kiss them goodbye.

Biden bragged he went toe to toe with Putin

Notice that Biden is too much of a pussy to talk to Putin. Biden is relying on Macron to lead the way.

“The Republicans stay silent and many will blame Putin.
Everyone thought Hunter Biden was going to be a big part of the debates, the Media simply ignored it.”

Those two factors are entwined, Republicans don’t beat the drum unceasingly in & to the media (as Dems do, relentlessly).

The Reps have no plan of attack at all, by election time the Dems can have the public forgetting what they did to the country via covid dictatorship.

And right now the Reps are too busy playing the praise Biden for being a great wartime President as get pulled into another world-policeman BS war - one having the added possible benefit of everyone seeing if there respective nuke arsenals are in working order.

The most that can be expected is if some Rep political handlers tell their bosses to “toss in the phrase ‘Cultural Marxism’ a few times to placate the rubes” in between their a$$kissing of the woke international mega-corps that fund the Dem party.

If you are a vile Democrat why deviate from what works? The American people seem oblivious to the destruction of their nation.
