I was surprised to learn this morning that Presidents Day includes ALL presidents. When did that happen? It ALWAYS has been the combination of Washington’s and Lincoln’s birthdays.
When I was in school we had both February 12 and February 22 off as holidays.
Which would also, therefore, ban Zer0. So Politico is racist. See, I can play your games too.
Leave out Biden because he was never elected legally. He is a cheat and fraud.
“Are we sure that wasn’t the Babylon Bee??”
Yeah, i’m having a little trouble with this one too. So should we rename it to “Presidents day (except Trump)”?
That’s so childish. If one is obssessed, anything and everything could ‘remind you of Trump’.
Are we to eliminate all to spare you the triggering? Oh, that’s right, we can’t!
How about you sit in the corner and fixate on your fear of Donald Trump, while the rest of us move on with our lives.
This is something I harp on continuously, or at least seasonally. The holiday is established by law and the statutory name of the holiday is “George Washington’s Birthday.” Nixon’s offhand remark robbed a great American of his due observance. For the life of me I don’t know why the misnomer has caught in like it has.
The blatant fraud of Biden’s presidency proves this nation cannot survive tyranny.
“Should actions start being taken to counter such speech?”
No.
There shouldn’t be a Presidents Day, but not for the reason these wokies say. We should celebrate Washington’s Birthday, like we did up until 1971. Lumping all CICs with the father of our country is insulting.
I don’t agree with their reason, but I do agree with going back to having just Lincoln’s and Washington’s birthdays celebrated in alternate years.
I see no good purpose at all in celebrating all Presidents. All of them do not deserve to be celebrated, and least big arguments against Presidents can be laid against Washington and Lincoln - they stand for getting the nation together and holding it together.
That quest for power over the little people is a strong one.
Hey SACKY.
STFU and GTFO.
In its conclusion, Politico asserts we should “keep a day off to reflect on lessons of the American past,” such as George Floyd’s murder – “real history” –…<
Some people have far too much time on their hands and far too few functioning brain cells.
Nixon’s remark was probably made out of ignorance rather than malice—he may have thought that both Washington and Lincoln were being honored (although Lincoln had never been honored with a federal holiday). Unfortunately the misnomer caught on.
How about Trudeau in Canada?
Pollutico is not a journalistic organization, and should be barred from all access to politicians and every event that happens in society. Also, their access to the savings accounts, insurance policies, and what they like to think are their private residences should be prohibited.
It should be George Washington Day.
My thinking is that maybe Politico should be canceled...but not just for President’s Day.
Maybe we could go back to calling it “Washington’s Birthday”!!!!
That would be fine with ne, but NOT with the radical leftists!!!!
