Until now. Someone says Biden is using affirmative action to fill a court seat and the “internet explodes.” Now the term is a racist dog whistle and something Biden or no right-thinking person would ever do.
“No, Biden is not using affirmative action! It's a terrible thing to say he's doing what we have been doing for so long and of which we have been proud, ” they say.
So it begins.
How can anyone not acknowledge that this is affirmative action. Biden literally said he is going to nominate a black female. Not the best qualified person, but literally a black female. He didn’t even say best qualified black female. Just black female. Same as he did for his VP.
Affirmative action, by definition: “A policy or program providing advantages for people of a minority group who are seen to have traditionally been discriminated against, with the aim of creating a more egalitarian society through preferential access to education, employment, health care, social welfare, etc.”
Graham is on the Judiciary Committee, which is our only hope to halt this nomination process. As I have mentioned before on this board, he is the weakest link on the committee. He will fold.
