Former President Donald Trump has reportedly been bashing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in private as a potential 2024 primary opponent, calling him a “dull personality” with no chance of winning.
As polls continue to put Ron DeSantis in the top spot for the 2024 nomination without Donald Trump on the ballot, sources confirmed to Axios that the former president has been privately trashing the popular Florida governor.

Axios is a Fake News tentacle.
In desperation, the Soro/Socialists are bearing false witness against every perceived conservative threat.
Ron will make great VP for Trump
Axios?
Lies.
DeSantis is trying to get elected governor of Florida right now. That means he needs the votes of a lot of weak and stupid GOP voters who want Trump out of politics by any means necessary. So a bit of separation between Trump and DeSantis is obviously the plan right now.
That’s a good point.
Here’s what DeSantis had to say about the supposed feud in a recent interview. Hopefully Trump will attempt to defuse as well.
DeSantis Dismisses Notion of ‘Animosity’ Between Him And Trump: ‘This is What the Media Does’’
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) was asked on the popular Ruthless podcast Friday about speculation that he and former President Donald Trump are on the outs as both are looking at possible runs for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.
One of the show’s multiple hosts noted that the media is “trying to drive a wedge between you and one of your constituents here in Florida, former President Trump.”
“Is there any sort of animosity?” the host asked. “What’s that relationship like? I want to know what that dynamic is like.”
“I think this is what the media does,” DeSantis shot back, dismissing the question.
“You cannot fall for the bait. You know what they’re trying to do, so just don’t take it. Just keep on keeping on. We need everybody united for a big red wave in 2022. We’ve gotta fight the left, and not only fight but beat the left. And that’s what we’re doing in Florida.”
Ron is not interested in playing second fiddle.
Anonymous source.......c’mon
I wouldn’t be opposed to Desantis. He is not an agent of the GOPe. They hate him. That doesn’t mean they won’t use him to divide their opposition. Problem for them is that they don’t have any support. I’m not sure this voting for President thing still actually matters. If it does, the GOPe is done by the time 2024 rolls around. Retirements alone are their doom.
Correct these reports are not true. Trump knows he has at best four years and after that someone else must lead. I refuse to believe Trump could make such clumsy errors knowing DeSantis has already said he intends to serve two terms as governor, putting it out to 2026.
Meh - I’m sure DeSantis has non-positive opinions about Trump too.
Personally I wonder what Romney or Paul Ryan’s opinion of DeSantis is?
RDS made himself based on his excellent record as Governor.
Axios is crap. This is FAKE NEWS.
The right positions but no charisma.
Why does Breitbart even give Axios the time of day?

Seems that the only “reporting” that Breitbart does nowadays is the cheap clickbait type in the form of “did you see what so-and-so said”.
It's not personal, it's politics and Trump will hold nothing back.

I’m not sure that’s exactly correct, but if I had to chose someone purely between “impressive personality” and “ability to know what needs to be done, and get it done as well” then I’ll always take the latter. Here’s some examples of DeSantis’ achievements in just the last year, which are to the right of most anyone else at his level of government...
