The Chicago police chief who arrested Jussie Smollett for staging a race-baiting attack on himself said Friday that he would have let the actor go free if he’d just apologized and admitted that he was lying early on.
Eddie Johnson, head of the Chicago Police Department in 2019, wouldn’t have pursued charges against the “Empire” actor if he’d simply admitted he’d made it all up, he told “Morning in America.”

I taught at a university in Chicago umpteen years ago. Haven’t set foot inside the city limits or for that matter the county since.

It isn’t up to Eddie Johnson who to decide to charge or not.

Apologized to who..the Chicago Police? HOW ABOUT MAGA SUPPORTERS EVERYWHERE who were accused of this nonsense..how about US? We are the ones who deserve the damn apology but we will never get one because Jussie Smollett is a sack of poo..he did this for two reasons, number one to boost his status as victim, and being a victim can make a person very wealthy, and secondly, he did it on the orders of Kamala Harris, yes I always believed from day 1 that she was in on the whole thing..she was the 1st to run to the cameras demanding her anti lynching bill get passed, she is close to the Smollett family, and Jussie refused to turn over his cell phone, emails, text messages..why, simple, he and Kamala communicated, he didnt want those messages to come out
We have all seen liberal authorities protect liberal wrongdoers. It happens all the time.
We witness this on a daily basis and it has destroyed the credibility of liberals and the institutions that they have corrupted.
One feature of a sociopath is that when they are caught lying, they double down. It doesn’t matter how ridiculous the lie, or the double down is, they keep going. They display outrageous emotions. The police chief was trying to act as if Smollett was a normal person. But, if he was a normal person, he’d have never come up with such an outrageous plan. The plan, I gather, was he was pissed off about not getting more money at his acting job, so he thought he’d generate such publicity they’d have to give him the raise he’d demanded. There are so many problems with that thinking, he must be a real head case to deal with. (The plan followed from a script he’d read.) My guess is he only had the acting job because he had connections with the Obamas and Opra. I never saw the show, but I’ll bet he was a bear to work with.
