Other navy officers suggested coming up with ways to counter the parody video. Cmdr. Ellen Mariano at Maritime Forces Pacific noted the navy needed to “fight fire with fire.” That could be done, she suggested, by creating a navy video or inviting sailors to create their own on YouTube or TikTok, where they would sing about the orders not to share the satire video. “A sailor, in front of a camera, with a guitar singing (educating, really) about the orders and/or about how being a sailor is awesome,” Mariano noted in an email.Really, woman? Really? That video would have gotten ripped even faster. Ready aye ready!

They would have been better served by simply STFU. Now they have ensured that the parody is watched worldwide.
Oh, and BTW, Canadian Navy, it isn’t the video that made you look like fools. It was your officer who disabled the safety devices.

Free speech is dead in Canada. Anyone speaking out against the State will be hunted down and prosecuted!

“second-in-command of HMCS Calgary was relieved of his duties after disabling the smoke and heat detectors in the warship’s wardroom so he could smoke.”
Back in ‘94 I was on a supply ship (USS Seatle AOE3) in the Teddy Roosevelt battlegroup. The Captain of the ship had banned smoking and the sale of cigarettes onboard. The ship had signaled (via light) they wanted us to send 2 cartons of cigs for the Admiral who was embarked at the time!
It was sickening!!
