Anti-Trump Republicans on the line in 2022 too
thehill.com ^ | 9/26/21 | Albert Hunt

It doesn't get any better in the U.S. Senate race where former party state chair Jane Timken, perennial right-wing candidate Josh Mandel and author J.D. Vance are fighting over who is the most Trumpian.

Ohio State Sen. Matt Dolan jumped into the race, giving the anti-Trump forces an outside shot if the others split their vote. It'll be interesting to see if retiring Sen. Rob Portman — who didn't stand up to Trump for four years — will show political courage now that he’s not facing voters.

It’s not much better in neighboring Pennsylvania, where the leading Republican U.S. Senate candidate, Sean Parnell, a veteran and failed congressional candidate, is running as a total Trump man. This is no longer the Republican party of Governors Dick Thornburgh and Tom Ridge or Senators John Heinz and Arlen Specter.

Parnell is running for the seat of retiring Republican Sen. Pat Toomey; it’s one of the main Democratic targets next year, along with the seat of retiring North Carolina Republican Sen. Richard Burr. For Burr’s seat, Trump has endorsed right-wing Congressman Ted Budd, whose chief primary opponent, former Gov. Pat McCrory, seems at times to be claiming he's actually more Trumpian than Trump’s endorsee.

They're starting to worry.

Because if there's a Republican sweep and REAL conservatives have been nominated, then the Republicans will have REAL majorities in the Congress.

The Boehner Boys could have stayed, but they chose to retire en masse to assist the democrats in getting a majority to stop Trump.

"As you have sewn, so shall you reap."

Too bad! Oh, too bad!!

Final line of the article: “If Trumpism scores major wins next year, there is no turning back.”

We need everyone to be “America First” no matter what their political party is.

In Wyoming, the demonrat party is already up to their deceitful tricks, they are advising to switch parties for the primaries in order to keep Liz Cheney in office, She’s THEIR gal.

THEN WE’LL HAVE TO VOTE IN THE DEMOCRAT FOR 2 YEARS. We’re not messing around. Losing one house seat is ok. If Murkowski still gets her nomination we ALL kiss her ring.

Then a fake dem, particularly a “far right” conservative should run in the dem primary, filing at the last minute, so Lizzy runs against a real Trump supporter. Upon being elected, he can act like Jumping Jim Jeffords.

The best place to start is in Ohio and the retirement this month of Ohio Rep. Anthony Gonzales. He was a GOP dream: the son of a Cuban immigrant, a college and professional football player with an MBA from Stanford, an entrepreneur, a conservative. He was honest, voting to impeach Trump for inciting the mob violence on the Capitol and accepting Joe Biden's legitimate win.

Only a very few RINO/Assistant Democrats buy into this tripe. By no means would I ever consider Gonzales a GOP dream.

My family has voted for Rubio twice. No chance we vote for him again after his support for the coup on the highly corrupt Senate intel committee.

They're starting to worry.

The vote is rigged, but enjoy whatever it is you're doing.

Notice the bias when describing perennial right-wing candidate Josh Mandel but then in the next few sentences they say nothing about the perennial left winger Arlen Specter.

Hypocrisy on parade by the “LEFT WINGER” Albert Hunt.

In my home town the political system needed a republican candidate for Congress. They encouraged my father to run, which he did, on the Republican ticket. The very people who encouraged him to run voted for the Dem congressional candidate who won the seat. They needed a stooge with an ‘all American Apple Pie family.’

For the game of politics.

My wife and I voted for Trump in 2016 & 2020 because he campaigned on issues we liked, the wall, MACA, encouraging businesses to stay in America and calling out China for stealing our businesses tech/production secrets.

We knew he was a jerk and big mouth but wanted him in to better our country. But his 2020 loss (yes the Democrats cheated and stuffed the ballot boxes) showed his personality defects energize the undecideds that gives the Democrats a victory.

Better he does not run and stays in the background to fund and endorses GOP candidates that are for the issues Trump raised in 2016 & 2020.

So you prefer Andrew Gillum in that seat, assuming he runs?
