Safe to travel in USA near 9//2

I am seeking guidance about travel in the USA around 9/11. I have a trip scheduled to drive from Indiana to Michigan on 9/10 for 10 days. The plan is to visit Family north of Detroit.

Appreciate any thoughts about the likelyhood of terrorists attacks that would suggest I stay home and protect my Family.

Any big hit is likely to be on DC or NYC. You should be okay in the mid-west.

I wouldn't worry about some kind of terror attack. I'd be more alert to possible weather issues, safe driving, avoiding summer construction delays, avoiding exposure to infectious diseases, and not driving through any local protests or bad neighborhoods.

And watch out for tractors, buggies, and stray farm animals in the rural areas.

I went to NYC I think during the 3rd or 4th 9/11 anniversary. Locals told me that was probably the safest time to be there - everyone is hyper-vigilant.

I’d be more worried if I was traveling overseas somewhere. Especially Europe on any of their public transportation.
