U.S. defense officials say that the military is looking for alternative ways to get Americans, Afghans and third-country nationals safely to the airport in Kabul following threats from the Islamic State, according to reporting from NBC News.
Two defense officials told NBC News that they are tracking specific threats from ISIS against the Kabul airport and those trying to get to the airport. With that, alternative ways are being developed to get people to the evacuation zone, the officials explained.
“We are executing an alternate path,” a defense official told NBC News. This includes gathering smaller groups of people at specific locations and then moving them to the airport in intervals. The goal is to get them there safely and make it easier to get through the gate quickly with smaller groups of people.

It is an easy conclusion to treat the Afghanistan debacle as gross incompetence. But what if it is something else?
Biden is beholden to China through bribery over the decades. China has already recognized the Taliban. The Taliban was considerably strengthened by all the military hardware we left behind. They now can control security for future mines and transport that China covets in Afghanistan. And alliances with the United States were severely weakened.
Incompetence? My vote is shifting to massive malfeasance. Something this screwed up seldom happens by accident.
People forget that the left has long lamented that the US was the lone super power. The competition was never going to catch up, so the US had to be brought down a bunch of notches.
IMO, this is what’s in play and is being orchestrated by Obama retreads.

They need to recapture Bagram Airfield back at the same time declare War (with rules to kill not make peace) on the Taliban.
Deploy special forces with Air Power to Bagram follow up with regular troops. Once the beachhead is secure expand out from the base.

I think your logic leads into the right direction. Lets say four factors were at play:
1. Biden thinks he’s sophisticated and intellectual, when he’s not. Add onto this, his mental decline continues on.
2. Biden had unwise advice from his White House staff (include his National Security Adviser) and members of the State Department. That will continue unless they are fired.
3. An absolute mindset by all of the White House team to do anything opposite of what Trump’s strategy was.
4. Probably the lowest level of international strategy/planning of any White House in fifty years.
