Conservative talk radio host Larry Elder, who is a Republican candidate for governor in the upcoming California recall, shut down a question from a Los Angeles Times columnist who recently compared him to white supremacist David Duke.
Elder, born and raised in Compton, is African American and would be the state’s first black governor. The columnist, Jean Guerrero, claimed in July that Elder had sanitized Duke’s racist ideas for “the Trump era’s most toxic figures and ideas.”

What views do David Duke and Larry Elder have in common? To the extent they do hold similar views, this reporter wouldn’t be smart enough to understand any of it. I guess they are to the level of “you know who else breathed air? Hitler! Look at you going around breathing air just like Hitler, you Nazi!”
Who is this Jean Guerrero? I’m guessing some 20-something recent ‘journalism’ grad and maybe not an LA native. I’ve probably been listening to Elder on the radio since before this Jean character was probably out of diapers. To say this about him is really insulting. Larry knows how to handle himself.

That guy was waaaaaaaaay out of line. As soon as he made his intentions clear, Elder and his press secretary made it abundantly clear that they were not having any of it.
And Sewell Chan went right ahead and gave Guerrero the floor anyway. So they shut her down too.

Larry Elder is a great guy. And to discover he made it out of Compton as a ConservatIve (AND alive!)...that’s even more kudo points.

Elder was not born and raised in Compton.
He was born and raised in SOUTH CENTRAL LOS ANGELES.
I recall hearing that when Larry was not too well known, he was invited to appear with Jesse Jackson to debate the racism topic du jour, via satellite feed, on TV. When they went to commercial break, Jesse berated his aide for not vetting Elder, to be sure he was a second stringer. When the program resumed, “technical difficulties” prevented further debate . . .
The liberals are having a brown alert because it looks like Larry Elder is a done deal for governor.
