Assume the position of the Taliban for a minute. How much $$$ should you ask from Biden to ensure everyone gets out and how often do you ask for more?
It’s worth noting that the Taliban is not a disciplined army like the NVA were when they took Saigon. So if some Taliban guy wants to take down an airplane, he’s gonna take down an airplane.
Effectively the US military, US Civilians and Afghan Allies who are in Afghanistan are prisoners, they will only get out if the Taliban allows it....

The Russian Army left Afghan beat and hooked on drugs. I don’t think Russia is a fan. Our military is trash. Two SF teams led the Northern Allian and Karzai’s men to victory and took Kabul in 100-120 days. We saw the invasion of Iraq on TV. Very ill trained US.
And no matter what, at this point, Biden couldn’t and wouldn’t send American troops back into Kabul - PERIOD!
He would need more than the two faces he already has to handle all that “egg”!

I’ve been saying that for three days. Our troops are operating at the mercy of the Taliban. The Taliban could shut this down in 20 minutes if they chose to. Our troops are in mortal danger. I’m sure they could put up a good fight but they are outnumbered and surrounded. Reinforcements and supplies could easily be barred from landing.
The Taliban saw how much bribe money the Ukrainians got for doing nothing. They’re not going to start shooting Americans.
