We have lots of people doubling up, either parents moving in with children or, more common I think, children moving in with parents.
Lived in NYC in my youth and been there many times. I simply don’t see the appeal — and believe me, I’ve tried.
I expect that the census numbers provided make use of statistical smoothing to make up for reality - people moving out or dropping out.
I read awhile back that they rigged the numbers. Montana would have gotten 2 new reps instead of one. And NY would have lost 2 instead of one. Do you find it so hard to believe that these crooks would do it?
Who knows? close to 9 million love NYC or can’t get out. I think it’s a sh*thole just based on the lack of law and order and asinine politics.
And half of them are on welfare and aren’t citizens.
NYC should not be bragging about how much money it makes because most of it is unearned.
Working at the Census Bureau helped me understand that there are people in the middle of Texas that think like East Coast bureaucrats.

NYC would have been better off if the descendants of the original Dutch settlers would have stayed rather than gotten on wagons and moved west in the mid-19th when all the poor illiterate and violent Irish moved in and brought their corruption, but that is just my opinion. ;)

Just what I was going to say. My old neighborhood in Woodside Queens is completely taken over by illegals now, one of the highest concentrations in the country. That’s part of AOCs district and rumor is that AOC organized illegals to vote for her which is how she had her “surprise” win.
There’s one street there called Roosevelt avenue that runs under the 7 train. That’s the huge fake ID industry on that street. In 30 years cops must have busted it just twice
...many of them living in cemeteries...
Montana was never going to get TWO additional seats unless it magically added a million residents in the past decade. It is getting back the one it lost 30 years ago, and hopefully will be drawn to elect a Republican (since for many years, it was usually split by each party).
Has this census data — or any census data — been audited by anyone other than Democrats?

For the record, let it be stated that the Anglos in general were much more accepting of my Polish and Italian ancestors when they came here than the Germans and Irish were - they needed them to work in their mills for the cheap labor after all (the whole thing about Italian Americans intermarrying with the Irish was a post-World War II phenomenon).
Overtime people lose their ethnicity through intermarriage with other ethnic groups. And once they become whitewashed, er, American they often look askance at newcomers. And the band played on…
