New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s longtime secretary and confidante, Melissa DeRosa — depicted as the governor’s enabler and enforcer in covering up his sexual abuses in the state attorney general’s probe — resigned from her post Sunday evening.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve the people of New York for the past 10 years,” she said in a statement. “New Yorkers’ resilience, strength, and optimism through the most difficult times has inspired me everyday. Personally, the past 2 years have been emotionally and mentally trying. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such talented and committed colleagues on behalf of our state.”
DeRosa was mentioned 187 times in the 168-page investigative report by Attorney General Letitia James into 11 sexual assault accusations against the three-term governor, which confirmed Cuomo has engaged in “unwanted groping, kissing, hugging and making inappropriate comments,” James said.

He should be resigning for killing thousands of elderly citizens - not for being a sexual jerk.
None of these women are teenagers. Each of them could have said ‘cut it out’... and gone to HR. Why do we have laws on the books protecting women if what they really fear is NOT getting a promotion?
Power is very seductive to most.

This woman is no innocent bystander. Cuomo is simply not bright enough to properly manage the corruption by himself. Nor would he been able to harass these women quietly and privately. He is a mean thug. This woman knew and participated directly and indirectly with whatever went down. Would love to see a thorough forensic evaluation of he finances and affairs. She probably supervised the laundering of the graft and bribery money for Cuomo and herself.
So did his replacement Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul.

Guys need to grow up and learn to read a room. Not every woman wants that kind of attention.
In a private corporation it is much easier for women to go to HR or the police.
Governors (remember Bill Clinton of Arkansas?) have the state police to assist with intimidation (or worse).
Combine that with Cuomo’s connections to organized crime (well known to folks in Albany) and it would be dangerous (stupid actually) for an individual woman to blow the whistle on him.
Cuomo is a sociopath.
They don’t read rooms—they treat them as their personal property.

In a sane world, absolutely. But then the governors of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan . . . all RATs . . . would be joining him.
