A woman who defected from North Korea and came to the US says she was mugged by three black women outside a Saks Fifth Avenue store in Chicago last year but was prevented from calling the police by white bystanders because doing so was ‘racist.’
Yeonmi Park, the Columbia University student who along with her mother was sold into slavery by human traffickers after fleeing North Korea when she was just 13, alleges the incident took place during last summer’s looting in the Windy City.
Park alleged that police and prosecutors declined to charge the thief, but public records indicate that 29-year-old Lecretia Harris was sentenced to two years in prison after her arrest in connection with the incident.
One of Harris’ accomplices managed to evade arrest.
At around the time of the incident, the city was in the midst of widespread unrest as vandals smashed windows of dozens of businesses and made off with merchandise, cash machines and anything else they could carry.
Park said that bystanders encouraged Harris to run and were hostile to her when she tried to call the police. Some who witnessed the crime branded her a racist for trying to dial 911, according to Park.
By speaking out about the incident, Park said that she has 'become the enemy of the woke.'

She needs to stay away from the US urban areas.
This story - along with hundreds like it - makes me wonder what ever happened to the governments stand against anti-Asian bigotry.

I worked/lived downtown Chicago 5 or 6 years ago for about a year. It was pretty nice back then (but ONLY downtown). I liked the walking and cutting through city hall to get to the Chase tower.
Today no way in hell I would stay there.

Thats just embarrassing and bad, what kind of crazy people we must look like we are to people who have gone through the sorts of harrowing experiences this student has.

May be. The media fell asleep at the switch and it was looking like the rioters last year were getting away scot free, which only made it all worse. But I know in my own town that the guy who tore up the courthouse landed promptly in jail.
If so, thats not helpful, but nor is the national media irresponsibility in driving the narrative flip side.
As long as the DOJ and Democrats that are in charge of LE keep on coddling the race of professional victims, this is going to be the norm and the MSM is going to ignore the numbers of crimes committed by blacks against Asians and whites. I believe it has already reached this point in many areas.
Many foreigners who move to the US have no clue just how awful US big cities are—and who roams the streets there.
They just have to learn the lesson the hard way—and then they are equally stunned to find out how amazing the rural countryside is..

I taught for many years at an urban high school. One of the substitute teachers who worked there was a quiet, older lady who spoke with a slight accent.
Some of the students constantly made fun of her, because of her age and her accent. And our weak and worthless principal did nothing to stop the harassment.
Only after that lady retired did I learn that she was a survivor of Auschwitz.
She’s probably going to announce she’s going back to North Korea, because its safer and less Marxist there.

Of course, no mention that blacks hate yellows. And are violent in tendency. Combine the 2 and you have which class beats on the other class. But the perps are the preferred class, so largely the “anti-Asian” thing is dropped.
