Why We Are Still Living in Ronald Reagan's America
Newsweek ^ | 07/28/2021 | H.W Brands

Posted on 07/29/2021 8:17:01 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Ronald Reagan liked to tell stories. As president he told one to a convention of Protestant ministers, about a preacher and a politician who died on the same day and were greeted by St. Peter at the gates of heaven. Peter explained heaven's rules and escorted the newcomers to the homes they would occupy for all eternity. The preacher's proved to be a single room with a bed, table and chair. The politician's was a huge mansion with handsome furnishings. The politician was grateful but puzzled. "How do I deserve this grand place while that good man of the cloth has to live in a single room?" he asked. Peter replied, "Here in heaven we have plenty of preachers. You're the first politician to get in."

We’re not.

Haven’t been since Bush Sr. took office and it’s been a steady ride to the bottom ever since.

President Trump was changing that trajectory, pretty much by himself, until Governors, Lt Governors, Secretaries of State’s, AG and state legislatures took marching orders from others, accepted their bribes with enthusiasm and got rid of him.

Now with CornPop and his puppet masters, we’re back on track to the bottom with even more radicals in Congress, on both sides.

I am sorry to say we are not, and it is because of the 1986 Amnesty.

That singular act truly ruined our Nation.

It has changed our demographics.

And demographics is destiny.

Newsweek had better get woke real world and make adjustments
We’re in Trumps America getting a full taste of the democrat’s fascism that Biden, the congress, judiciary and Newsweek and their fellow media people have been shoving at us. It’s not going well for them.

Reagan believed that the purpose of getting elected was to govern, not to score political points.

I no longer feel that politicians are in DC to help make our lives better. They are in DC to make their lives better, to hell with us.

Because Ronald Reagan’ America is by-and-large the America that was birthed from the Declaration of Independence and established by the Constitution.

THE GOD-GIVEN RIGHT TO BE INDEPENDENT AND FREE FROM OPPRESSIVE AND UNJUST GOVERNMENT.

These are things that will forever live in the hearts of men and will never be extinguished by the Left or anyone else.

The 1965 Immigration Act and the 1986 Amnesty. Do not expect the Castro Brothers, Ilhan Omar or their progeny to ever relate to the Founding Fathers, Constitution or our flag.

His story remains true because it is human nature. That hasn’t changed since the founding of our country or the earliest democracies.

What has changed is the inability for a majority to understand this and wanting to be ‘ruled’ rather than living as a free person.

We are not. We left that January 20,2021. The sheep pretend they still are. Biden’s goons will disabuse them of that at their leisure.

“And demographics is destiny.” That’s it in a nutshell. The same temperament and tendencies that made us so strong when we were a homogeneous nation become like kryptonite when we allow ourselves to be overrun by people who don’t share our qualities. We really aren’t even a “nation” anymore, and the same destruction is being wreaked throughout the Western world. And we’re too kind to point fingers and place blame, let alone do anything about it . . . other than anonymous griping online, of course.

We are living in fake America w/ twist exploited and or exaggerated crisises yearly as a means to distract and or take away our individual freedoms.
They removed the legitimate president.
They installed a dementia patient as president via fraud.
The FBI are in on it.
We no longer manufacture our own goods.
Communist make the bulk of our goods including most of our pharmaceuticals.
They are letting illegals flood our country.
News is pure propaganda by which supports the dims and assist the deep state.

What America?

Just finished the job LBJ and that pirate Sam Rayburn started in 1965 with the Immigration Reform Act...

Those two Texans, making sure that their dem ranching buddies in TX had all the cheap labor they needed, had no way of knowing what SCOTUS would do in 1973. Roe v Wade made certain that the demographic time bomb would explode 50 years earlier than otherwise could be predicted.

Maybe you’re not living with freedom and expectation of restoration in your heart and but I am.

Regardless of the actions of the Outlaw Left, the Constitution is still the Supreme law of the Land.

Where’s the blood you’ve shed in your fight to the death for your freedom? Are you willing to give up on you precious freedom without a fight? That is sad.

We haven’t come to blows yet and you’re willing to acquiesce to the Marxist Left?

The Ronald Reagans and Trumps of this world and the millions of Patriots have shown the way to restoration of our Free Constitutional Republic.

You sound like a POW or MIA, absconding to the other side. Sadness.

30? CVA - I am 59 years old. I can’t remember a time when my government did anything other than make my life more difficult. Any election I have voted in (1980 on) my hope is that they don’t f-—k up things more. I haven’t had that particular hope met yet. I have succeeded DESPITE my government, not because they have done a damm thing to help me.

You could push that back to the 1965 Immigration bill authored by the murder of the senate....

While the f--k us over they want us to pay taxes at the same time... That is the worse thing.

“I am sorry to say we are not, and it is because of the 1986 Amnesty.

Two terrible events bookended the year 1986 during Ronald Reagan’s presidency The Challenger space shuttle disaster on January 28, 1986 and the presidential declaration of amnesty for illegals on Nov. 6, 1986. For both there was a pledge that this would never happen again. The amnesty decision was coupled with the promise that this was a one-time exception and coupled with a solemn pledge about increasing security at the Mexican border, etc.

In the time of Reagan, people actually were thankful for what they had and what they could strive for. So there was hope and an honest effort to giving rather than despair and not gaining tradeoffs. Thus the new hope is survival, not comfort and success. And the promise is slavery and not freedom. And people are not smart enough or care enough not to be leashed and beaten. So desperation and acceptance of failure is justifiable as long as it is easily defensible. And the acceptance is easily defended by giving Pavlov’s dogs what they think they need...or are told they need.
