Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis cop convicted of murdering George Floyd, is being sentenced in the closely watched case Friday.
What was Derek Chauvin convicted of? The jury found Chauvin, 45, guilty of all three charges against him — second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter — on April 20.
The verdict came on the second day of deliberations following nearly three weeks of testimony from 45 witnesses — 38 of them called by the prosecution.

A million years or BLM riots
Riots no matter what the sentence.
20 years
Why be a cop these days? You only get to interface with savages and get blamed when they kill themselves or get hurt.
I’m confused. Did Derek Chauvin murder George Floyd THREE times?
Whenever an arresting officer encounters a drug induced reaction Cops should call for medical assistance. Doing so would prevent this result,
I couldn’t get the Post article to load. But I’ve read that Minnesota state guidelines call for something like 12 years, given that Chauvin has no prior criminal history. And the max. is 30 years.
I’d be very surprised if Chauvin gets less than 25 years.
You do realize they had called for medical assistance and were waiting for the ambulance to arrive, don’t you?
That’s why Chauvin was holding Floyd down.
This is a travesty.
Burning Looting Mobs, regardless of the sentence.
The mob has their foot on the scale of justice for the sentencing as they did for the verdict. The judge has even more on the line than the jury.
never heard that one before—why he was holding him down.
-but it makes sense.
The only way to prevent this result is to quit your thankless job as a cop in a Democrat run inner city. Period.
He was waiting for the paramedics. No, you won’t hear that. The media made it seem like he was just holding him down waiting for him to die.
It took 9 minutes for the ambulance to arrive.
Also, I read that the ambulance was delayed and couldn’t get through because they had to reroute around a street that had filled up with hostile spectators.
Probably an indeterminate sentence. Long enough at least, for another inmate to carry out the death penality.
