Rick Santorum's gig as a CNN contributor came to an abrupt halt on May 22. Leftists on Twitter finally found a pretext for their crusade to rid CNN of this turbulent conservative. The former senator suggested in an April 23 speech that America's founding documents didn't draw on Native American culture.
The final straw was a designated apology tour of sorts on Chris Cuomo's show on May 3. Santorum explained that he didn't mean to disparage the Native Americans, but nothing was going to stop the steamroller.
Shameless Cuomo interviewed his brother, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, multiple times and proclaimed him a miraculous role model for coronavirus policy -- in complete contradiction of the facts -- and he's still at CNN. He advised his brother to play hardball with his sexual harassment accusers and refuse to resign, and he's still at CNN. Jeffrey Toobin masturbated in front of female colleagues on a Zoom call and he's still on staff.
But say something that upsets left-wing Twitter? You have to go.
They exaggerated Santorum's comments into what The Daily Beast claimed were "racist" and "pro-colonization" comments. This was some aggressive liberal listening. They twisted Santorum's message into "Whites made this country great, and nobody else historically matters."
The substance isn't the real issue. It's all about the purge. The only "Republicans" CNN wants anymore are Biden voters like Ana Navarro, who tweeted out a video of LeBron James doing a Latin dance and claimed: "This ... is the best thing I've seen all day. Except for the news Santorum is no longer with CNN."
Next up: The left wants to fire Meghan McCain and make Navarro the resident "Republican" on "The View." Guess what. "The View" tried that with "Republican" Nicolle Wallace and it flopped.
But CNN doesn't think conservative dissent could help with its terrible ratings. Any righty who dissents from the CNN party line vanishes. Whatever happened to David Urban? The network apparently needed too many disclaimers for his lobbying work. (That's the pretext.) Law enforcement analyst James Gagliano disturbed the Twitter lefties by daring to engage journalists on the notion of liberal bias. That's got to be punished.
CNN contributor Scott Jennings is apparently the remaining endangered species, the snail darter or kangaroo rat of cable punditry. He should expect the Censor Squad is turning its attention to him.
Liberals like Tom Jones of Poynter.com underline that CNN viewers don't like the chaos of actual disagreements on their television. "Santorum's appearances often devolved into arguments and interruptions," Jones writes. Yes, he was the outlier, the lone wolf. Jones added, "I found it mostly uncomfortable, frustrating and chaotic -- making it the very opposite of good TV."

Anyone cheering Santorum’s firing better not come to the public square and decry how Americans “retreat to their silos” of one-sided news watching. Liberal journalists seem very comfortable building and reinforcing their one-sidedness and regularly rain missiles on the conservative “silos,” even though Fox News is more tolerant of liberals than CNN is tolerant of conservatives.
Today, the liberal bubble at CNN has a thicker wall than it’s ever had. CNN President Jeff Zucker has the network’s “news” hosts dropping hourly editorial bombs on the Republicans and getting out their hankies to cry on camera over how the socialist revolution isn’t yet complete. Emoting is in, and reporting is out. Unanimity is in, and debating is out. Why would any conservative or Republican waste a moment on this never-ending infomercial, except to expose and correct it?
Do not trust CNN or the media. They are not your friends. They allow and promote hate from the left. They despise Republicans, and are always looking for something they can roast them on. They will betray you at the drop of a hat.
Glad to see CNN is out of the airports last time I passed through (about two weeks ago). It was insufferable to be exposed to that drivel while waiting for a flight.
I hope they purge every “Republican” off of the networks. Let it go full Commie, they’re already 95% of the way there.
I’m not cheering Santorum’s firing, but the guy was a moron for even working there in the first place. In fact, I’m so completely detached from CNN that I didn’t even know he was employed there until after they fired him. LOL.
Yeah, but is it out of all of them, or just a few?
I went through at least four major airport in the past month and all of them were (Thank God) CNN-free.

I haven’t watched that communist network in ages, and I also don’t watch ABC, CBS, NBC, and PMSNBC
When Mssr. Santorum attempted to attain a higher office than he was qualified for, he, as others have, proved “The Peter Principle” once again.
We are cutting Dish on the 1st, so I will no longer see even clips of CNN or MSNBC from Fox. For 18 years we have had about 2MB of internet speed. could not stream movies. We are now beta testers for Starlink and get more bandwidth than we ever dreamed of getting. Don't need networks or cable anymore,yay!

In a bit of a success story, I filled out a survey following a VA visit. In the survey I complained that the TV in the pharmacy pickup area was always tuned to CNN or MSNBC. In the survey I wrote, "Dammit, we're VETERANS; we shouldn't be subjected to all of the anti-Americanism from these channels when we visit the VA." Now, they tune the TV to Gunsmoke or something.
And BTW, what IS tuned in at the airports now?

Every time I go to the VA now, LBGTXYZ Posters are everywhere, and the TVs are all watching some stupid cooking show :/
A couple of years ago I had to start a new medicine that required me to be hospitalized for a couple of days for observation. At the nurses station they had a sign that said, "The patient in 602 is FEMALE". I asked the nurse, "Do you see so few of them that you need a sign?", and she burst out laughing. I meant, are there so few female veterans hospitalized that you need a sign? Then I went walking around the ward and saw the creature in 602. He/she/it was a burley black male dressed up like a female. At that point I understood why the nurse burst out laughing.
